Tingley Athletic u15s Green travelled to face Seacroft Eagles J.F.C U15 Greens at their home ground on 15 March 2026, with a 10am kick-off in a fiercely contested league fixture. The match ended 3-2 in favour of Tingley Athletic after 80 minutes of pulsating 11-a-side football, showcasing resilience and tactical discipline on the road.

Tingley Athletic set up in a 5-3-2 formation, deploying a solid back five to absorb pressure and build from the rear. Josh Shepherd guarded the goal, protected by right defender Harvey Crawshaw, central defenders Alfie Chalkley, Anthony Dobke, and Eli Dexter, with Lucas Pannett-Jones covering the left defensive flank. The midfield trio consisted of Luke Wilson on the right, Harry Allman centrally, and Jayden Day on the left, tasked with linking defence and attack. Up front, Kieran Bamforth operated as the right forward, partnered by Abdul Ali on the left. The substitutes named were Lucas Kinder, Harley-Jay Eastwood, and Sam Richardson.

From the outset, Tingley’s goalkeeper Josh Shepherd was called into action, making a full stretch save as early as the third minute to deny Seacroft’s early threat. Shepherd’s alertness was again tested at the 16th minute, where he produced another full stretch save to keep the visitors in the contest. The defensive unit remained compact, with Alfie Chalkley particularly commanding the central defensive area, a performance that would later earn him the player of the match accolade.

The first tactical changes came swiftly at the 22nd minute mark, with Lucas Kinder replacing Jayden Day on the left midfield, and Harley-Jay Eastwood coming on for Luke Wilson on the right midfield. These substitutions aimed to inject fresh legs and maintain midfield control. Shepherd’s goalkeeping heroics continued at 28 minutes when he parried a dangerous effort, keeping the scoreline level.

At 33 minutes, Sam Richardson was introduced for Abdul Ali, signalling a shift in attacking options. However, just a minute later, Seacroft Eagles broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal inside the box, putting the home side ahead 1-0. The half concluded with Tingley trailing but still very much in the contest.

The second half began with another substitution immediately after the break, as Abdul Ali returned to the pitch replacing Kieran Bamforth up front, reinforcing Tingley’s attacking threat. Early chances came thick and fast; Harvey Crawshaw’s attempt at goal in the 47th minute was saved, followed closely by Abdul Ali’s effort which was also denied. Lucas Pannett-Jones tried his luck from wide but his shot went off target.

Tingley’s persistence paid off in the 53rd minute when Harvey Crawshaw curled a stunning direct free-kick into the net, levelling the score at 1-1 and shifting momentum firmly in the visitors’ favour. The match remained finely balanced until the 66th minute when Seacroft Eagles struck again to regain the lead, making it 2-1.

Not to be outdone, Tingley responded with a swift and clinical finish from Abdul Ali at 70 minutes, assisted by Harvey Crawshaw’s precise delivery, to restore parity. The visitors then completed their comeback five minutes later when Ali again found the net, once more set up by Crawshaw, to put Tingley Athletic ahead 3-2.

Throughout the match, Alfie Chalkley’s commanding presence in central defence was pivotal in repelling Seacroft’s attacks and organising the backline. His composed and assured performance earned him the player of the match honours.

In a tightly fought league encounter, Tingley Athletic u15s Green demonstrated tactical flexibility, defensive solidity, and attacking flair to secure a vital away victory against Seacroft Eagles J.F.C U15 Greens. The 3-2 scoreline reflected a game of fine margins and spirited competition, with key contributions from goalkeeper Josh Shepherd and the influential Harvey Crawshaw in both defence and attack.
