Morning boys,
Great result yesterday! Your player data is available on your player account and the VEO will be released the moment it is downloaded.
Firstly a massive well done for the increase in intensity boys, I asked for that before the game after a โlooseโ performance last week, we built the team on a desire to close down, win tackles, be compact & I thought from the first minute yesterday we showed this!
The first half was very chaotic, I canโt really remember either team have any real clear cut chances & although I felt we competed very well throughout, I still would love us to look after the ball on turnovers in possession, I thought you was excellent in the first half Noah & gave us something different in the centre of the pitch, alongside Max who again optimises what we expect from a Unique player!
The most pleasing thing always a Manager/Coach is seeing what we have worked on look so clean! Out of possession our shape was excellent & the back five of Oscar, Samuel, Billy, Theo & Doniel & Beau when he came into the game were excellent, compact, tight in one v ones, jumping when the triggers were there & dropping on longer balls, it was really good to see & we needed that yesterday as Lewisham had a couple of live wires in the final third.
At half time we spoke about someone having that quality in the final third & for 20 mins of the second half it was much of the same, although our influence grew and we started isolating Bailey and Kai one v one & the momentum was growing in our favour.
We had to change Lemar for Malik & I thought you caused problems up there for the back 4, and although we hadnโt found the final pass, I felt we camped Lewisham in there half for long periods.
With 10 to go we unlocked the door with that bit of quality we know we will eventually produce, a wonderful raking pass from Leon inside the full back, a perfectly timed run from Kai and a tremendous finish across the GK, it was a great strike & for me was well deserved.
After that I actually felt we kicked on again which was even more pleasing & rather than sitting on the lead which i donโt think we needed to do, we continued to be front foot and got the second when again Leon dropped a clever ball over the top & Kai burst on to the ball and toe end before the keeper.
Game over!
We saw the game out brilliantly & for me it was a great result/performance and is exactly what the identity of the team is built on!
A special mention to you Kai, we shuffled the pack yesterday & I thought your reaction was exceptional, that intensity is how you need to be at all times & Iโm hoping you being the match winner yesterday can really kick you on again!
Well done boys, thatโs 9 games unbeaten & we have the chance to make it 10 when we go to Bromley on Sunday, we know how big that game is!
See you all Thursday.
