Evening lads,
Hope we have all recovered from Sundays shift! WINNING is the best feeling in the world!
Please find attached my report from the game, I’ve also managed to get the VEO of the game so you can drink it all in again! I will attach at the bottom.
Lads I want to first start by saying as dramatic as the comeback was, I really was not surprised we got our first win of the season, I think you could argue we could have won any of our first 3 fixtures despite the scorelines in a couple looking like we were heavily beaten.
I thought we started the game really well & took the lead with Sera from a corner, a really clever flick on at the near post from you Tyler, well done, that’s what your in the box for, to be a nuisance and that’s exactly what you done to help it on for Sera to finish.
After that lads I felt we took what I said pre match a little to literal in terms of getting behind the ball & I felt we dropped way too deep and invited pressure resulting in us giving two sloppy goals away despite me feeling like we was in control of the game.
At half time we spoke about ways we could hurt Lewisham, they were very ‘off the cuff’ and emptied the midfield very quickly, I felt the key to the game was getting Leon on the ball and feeding our wide players as quickly as possible to allow them to go 1 v 1.. I think we took this on board really well boys & despite giving away a sloppy penalty the reaction to going 3-1 down was incredible!
We got back in the game with a neat finish from Max (joint top goal scorer now! & the pass from you Leon to Stanley & the finish was wonderful, you had no right to score from there, well done! That’s the impact that we need from boys not starting the game!
The winner again was excellent, Lemar to have the poise to run at that speed & hold off a more ‘physical’ player was tremendous, what a finish & it’s the least you deserved for your workrate all afternoon it’s infectious across the team the way you press! Well done! Again I’ll give you a mention Leon the pass was excellent.
I could pick so many of you out, Bailey I thought your leadership in game was brilliant, and I want to give a special mention to Billy and Doniel who stepped up to go in goal in our time of need, not lost on me!
The final 8 or so mins was backs against the wall and you answered every question they had Theo, well done you have been outstanding since joining!
Kai/Samuel, outstanding defensively throughout, well done chaps.
If I have missed anyone out I apologise lads as wanted to give as many mentions as possible but it’s imperative we now build on this!
Enjoy that winning feeling boys.. momentum is everything in football so let’s build on it and get ready to go against Deal Town on Sunday!
