Unique FC U14 2 vs 4 Cray Wanderers F.C

Evening boys,

Do not even know where to start with that one on Sunday, I could focus on the decisions, the linesmen which of course had a big factor on the game, but I’d rather lock in on that first 15 mins where we absolutely threw a game away which after that we were in total control of even after going down to 10 men.

The three goals we gave away were so incredibly soft boys, not tight enough, letting balls bounce, not getting in peoples faces when the ball is travelling in the air for the corner & couple that with losing Oscar we had a pretty monumental mountain to climb.

I very rarely rip into you lads, but when we adjusted things after the sending off I felt you needed it, we changed to a 3-3-3 & I can’t fall the effort and endevour to almost get back in the game with a wonderful free kick from Leon and a neat finish from Kai.

It’s such a shame for us all that we started the game so poorly & it cannot happen again, do I think Cray were good, not at all, but if you gift a team at any level a 3 goal start you will do very well to turn it around, but I will give you credit for so nearly getting back in the game with the fight back in the second half.

Theo summed it up perfectly at the end when he said ‘if we had finished how we started the game we would have won’

So you have something to hang on to fella’s we have a massive weekend of fixtures, there’s a long way to go but we have to start the game better.

I really liked the width we kept in the second half, I cannot keep saying that is where are threats are so let’s start identifying our wide players early and allow them to go and hurt the opposition.

Tough one to take boys but a very long way to go.

We dust ourselves down, I’ll see you at training on Thursday before a big weekend on fixtures.

Cheers H
