The sun was shining as the Warley boys took to the field today. The visitors were Netherton Colts who are, geographically, the lad’s closest rivals. Pride was at stake as friends became enemies and the scene was set for an enthralling encounter.

Warley were without the grusome twosome Anil and Azza and initial fears were confirmed when the visitors started the scoring after only 20 seconds as indecision and failure to clear the ball led to a well taken Netherton goal. Warley Boro 0 Netherton Colts 1.  The lads soon settled though and it wasn’t long before they drew level with Man of the Match Luke B. blasting in after good work from Byron on 7 minutes. Warley Boro 1 Netherton Colts 1. On 11 Warley took the lead after a massive goal kick was deftly passed on by Sam S to Dan W whose first touch took him past the defender to slide the ball home. Warley Boro 2 Netherton Colts 1. Possession and winning tackles followed as Warley became the more dominant and were certainly worthy of their third goal after a Sam S rocket hit the ball for fox in the box Dan w to capatalise Warley Boro 3 Netherton Colts 1 Chances continued to follow most notable a Byron shot from 25 yards which the goalkeeper did well to save. Half time: Warley Boro 3 Netherton Colts 1

Ironically 20 seconds into the second half and Warley were 4 up as Sam S said goodbye to the memory of he’s penalty miss last week with a fierce penalty after being up ended in the box. Warley Boro 4 Netherton Colts 1.  In the 40th minute a Warley corner meant Reece managed to turn inside the box and score after the battling Byron had managed to win and laid the ball off to him. Warley Boro 5 Netherton Colts 1. Dan W ended the game with another hatrick afterclinical play inside the box started by Sam S. Final score: Warley Boro 6 Netherton Colts 1.

Warley moved up to second in the table with this win.  They scored 6 and created 14 other attempts on goal. Admittedly Netherton didn’t put up much of a fight but these are the games that you need to win to become worthy title contenders. No clean sheet but everyman played their part. Next stop the cup and Wordsley at home.
