Warmsworth still remain the only unbeaten team in the premier division after another emphatic 7-2 win. The Lions made the perfect start when Reece Ibbotson bent the ball into the top corner from 12 yards after good work from Lyndon Thompson and Jake McFatter with just 70 seconds on the clock. Warmsworth were all over Askern and went 2-0 up after 11 minutes, the referee adjudged their was a push in the box( a little soft if im honest) and awarded the Lions a penalty which Danny Bee put away comfortably like he always does.Askern were just being over-run and were lucky to not go further behind when their crossbar was rattled from close range and a goal line clearance kept the scoreline respectable. Warmsworth did make it 3-0 though Lyndon Thompson scrambling the ball home from close range. Warmsworth should have gone on and put the game to bed before halftime but instead took their foot off the gas and started to get a bit sloppy. Askern to their credit kept going though and stunned the Lions with 2 goals in 4 minutes just before halftime.

H-T 2-3

The Lions were sent out for the 2nd half with a flea in their ear and a change of personnel to get things back on track. Askern buoyed by their 2 goals just before halftime were clearly up for it and the opening 10 minutes of the 2nd half was an even contest. Warmsworth though have quality thru-out the squad and soon regained a 2 goal cushion when keeper Christian Norton launched a quick counter attack and sent Troy Britton through on goal to neatly lob the on-rushing keeper from 18 yards. The goal settled the Lions nerves and soon had the game won when a great cross from Matty Leese was superbly volleyed home at the far post by Jake Mcfatter. Askern's spirit was now broken and it shoud have been 6-2 whenTroy Britton's lob hit the stantion in the top corner before bouncing into the keepers arms but the referee(who was having a bit of a nightmare by this stage) ruled no goal. This didnt have any kind of impact on the Lions though and they did make it 6-2 when Aidan Hall played a neat pass to Jack Walton-Gales who controlled the ball then smashed it into the bottom corner giving the Askern keeper no chance. The final goal came just 3 minutes later when Reece Ibbotson cut out a pass and drove forward before putting Jack Walton-Gales clean through to chip in for his 2nd of the game.

F-T 2-7

Man of the Match.... Aidan Hall.... fantastic performance in midfield.. constantly broke up the home teams play and was always there tackling and snapping at their heals giving their players no time at all on the ball....

Special mention to Jake McFatter... again worked so hard from 1st min to the last.. scored 1 and assisted in 1 and was unlucky not to score more...Linked well with midfield and strike partners
