Home league match played on 04 March 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Warmsworth really piled on the pressure for their rivals with another 6-2 thumping while their nearest rivals choked and dropped points against teams they should be winning if they harbour real title ambitions!!! On a really terrible day  the Lions made a good start and pegged the webs into their own half. It was the Webs though who had the best chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty( a stonewaller) when Warmsworth failed to get a foot in on a mazy run from the Webs midfielder before upending him in the area before he could shoot. The Webs player stepped up and hit his shot onto the post before following up to hit it into the net!!! as the Webs players ran away celebrating their joy was short lived as the ref blew ,, no goal.. the penalty taker hit the rebound in off the post but no other player had touched the ball!!!!! big let-off for the Lions...The Lions soon  had the lead for themselves when Troy Britton ran through thanks to Jake McFatter's pass before finishing  superbly from 18 yards. Warmsworth were in total control and the Webs were struggling to get out of their own half. It got better for the Lions when they doubled their lead on 25 mins, Reece Ibbotson fired a magnificent 1st time cross in from the right that took out all the Webs defenders and was prodded home from 6 yards by an unmarked Troy Britton for his 2nd goal. Warmsworth should really have had the game won by half time but some good defending and as worstening pitch kept the score at 2-0

H-T 2-0

The Lions effectively had the game won just 2 minutes into the 2nd half when Brad Beardmore and Jake McFatter combined to give Troy Britton a  clear run on goal before finishing superbly to complete a great hat-trick. The Webs are a battling team and got a goal back with a bullet header from 8 yards from a corner. A tense 10 minute spell saw both teams make mistakes on a pitch now more resembling a pig pen than a football pitch. Warmsworth regained a 3 goal cushion when Lyndon Thompson volleyed home from close range. The game was now won and it was no surprise when Man of the Match Troy Britton rammed home his 4th of the game. With only 5 minutes or so left the Lions fell asleep and the Webs took a quick corner and ended getting a 2nd goal with a Webs player finding himself unmarked just 2 yards out.The Lions had the final say though with another quality finish, the ball  was flicked on from a Lions throw and Reece Ibbotson swivelled to volley low into the Webs net giving their keeper no chance from 16 yards.

F-T 6-2

Man of the Match... Troy Britton.... unstoppable in this form... score from anywhere on the pitch with either foot!!! worked the webs back 4  non-stop magnificent performance!!!!
