Another glorious Saturday morning set the tone for a great football match between W&P and All Saints. With Wolves & Perton looking to sustain their unbeaten start to the season this game was to prove their toughest test so far. The game started off with All Saints piling on the pressure to a sloppy and lacklustre Wolves & Perton in the first 15 minutes, and they were finally awarded when some neat passing in the midfield the ball was thread through to the Dean Cutler who fired home from 15 yards to give All Saints a well-deserved lead. 0-1.

As the match restarted and after a few more sloppy passes from Wolves & Perton, All Saints missed a couple of half chances to double their lead. W&P then started to get the ball down and pass it around as in previous weeks, a free kick was then awarded on the right hand side, Where another magnificent ball was whipped in by Ste Worley, onto the head of Andy Page to get the smallest of flicks to divert it into the net for his first goal of the season, 1-1.

The game restarted and for the next 10 minutes or so it was a really nice to see both teams passing the ball around, but just before the half time whistle W&P lost possession in the centre of the park and the All Saints midfielder picked a pass for Dean Cutler to slot home confidently for his scond of the game and regain the lead for All Saints, 1-2.

HT - The halftime whistle blew and the dominance from the away side meant a deserved lead at the break.

After making two changes at half time Wolves & Perton were looking to up their game and show the form which has been evident in the opening weeks. Although it was All Saints who grabbed the fourth goal of the game, after a long ball from the right back the ball went in between the Wolves & Perton defence where Ashley Turner was on hand to place the ball between the legs of the GK. 1-3.

This goal gave Wolves & Perton the kick they needed and afterwards started to press the All Saints defence playing some decent football all around the pitch. With around twenty minutes to go Wolves & Perton were still pushing for a way back into the game, and after a long ball from Frenchy at left back was met at the rear post with a smart knock down by Nathan Lodge to fire home from close range and pull one back for the home side, 2-3.

With the game coming to an end Wolves & Perton were searching for the equaliser and after a couple of half chances Wolves & Perton were awarded a corner, Ste Worley stepped up and scored directly from the corner, bending the ball  with his left foot straight into the back of the All Saints net, 3-3.

At this stage the game could of went either way with both teams pushing for the win, after few chances from both sides the final whistle blew and the teams had to settle for a point.

Overall it seemed a fair result but Wolves & Perton will be far happier with the point after coming from 2 goals behind in the second half. It was another great game of football to be involved with and the point for Wolves & Perton keeps them unbeaten at the start of the season. Good luck to All Saints for the rest of the season, look forward to another hard fought contest at their place later on in the season.

There was some bad news Sunday morning with our centre half Daryl Dillon who took a knock to his wrist in the first half but continued to play through the pain for over an hour has sustained a broken wrist. We wish him a speedy recovery.
