On 15 August 2026, Young Stars welcomed United Brothers to Rheenendal for a league home match kicking off at 1:30pm. The hosts delivered a commanding performance, running out 7-0 winners in a one-sided affair that saw them dominate from start to finish.

Young Stars lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, deploying Jerome Boukers in goal behind a back four of Seuna at right back, Zop and Arzi as central defenders, and Janeville Williams on the left. The midfield double pivot featured Yanga and Junior Juks tasked with controlling the centre of the park and breaking up opposition play. Ahead of them, the attacking trio consisted of Rushine Davids on the right wing, Lizzy in the central attacking midfield role, and Richard on the left flank. Leading the line was Kiembie as the lone striker, expected to spearhead the attack and convert chances created by the attacking midfielders.

On the bench, Young Stars had Ivandre Haaland, Chip Calwick, Xavior Stukkies, and Kyle available as substitutes.

The match burst into life early on when Young Stars took the lead in the fifth minute. Rushine Davids delivered a precise cross into the box, which Lizzy met with a powerful header to open the scoring. This early goal set the tone for the rest of the match, with Young Stars asserting their dominance.

Kiembie doubled the advantage in the 24th minute, showing clinical finishing to extend the lead and put United Brothers on the back foot. The visitors struggled to gain any foothold in the game as Young Stars controlled possession and territory.

In the 36th minute, Seuna received a yellow card for a bad tackle, a rare moment of discipline concern for the hosts. However, he made amends just six minutes later by scoring a stunning goal from outside the area, firing a low shot that left the goalkeeper with no chance. This goal further demoralised United Brothers as the half drew to a close.

The first half ended with Young Stars firmly in control at 3-0.

Shortly after the break, tactical changes began for Young Stars. At the 50th minute mark, Ivandre Haaland replaced Yanga in midfield, injecting fresh energy into the team. Just a minute later, Kiembie struck again to make it 4-0, continuing his excellent goal-scoring form.

United Brothers saw one of their players booked for violent conduct in the 55th minute, further compounding their woes.

Young Stars made another substitution in the 57th minute, bringing on Chip Calwick for Janeville Williams as part of their tactical reshuffle. The changes paid dividends as Ivandre Haaland scored his first goal for the club five minutes later, in the 60th minute, adding to the growing tally.

In the 66th minute, Xavior Stukkies came on for Lizzy, allowing the latter to rest after her impressive contribution. Six minutes later, Kyle replaced Seuna, completing the trio of second-half substitutions.

Ivandre Haaland continued to shine, scoring again in the 73rd minute after a self-assist, showcasing his composure and finishing ability.

Chip Calwick capped off the scoring spree with a goal in the 86th minute, sealing a comprehensive 7-0 victory for Young Stars.

From the opening whistle to the final moments, Young Stars dominated every aspect of the game, with their attacking players particularly impressive. The defence remained solid despite the early yellow card, and the midfield controlled the tempo effectively. United Brothers were unable to mount any meaningful challenge, succumbing to a heavy defeat on the road.

This emphatic win will boost Young Stars’ confidence as they look ahead to the rest of the league campaign.
