Fakenham Town Women's Football Club was founded in 2013 by a group of local women who wanted to play football. The club started out in the Norfolk Women's and Girls' Football League Division One, and won promotion to the Premier Division in their first season.

The club has been a regular in the Premier Division ever since, and has finished in the top three on several occasions. In 2021, they reached the final of the Norfolk Women's Cup, but lost to Attleborough Town.
