Norfolk Women & Girls' Football League

The Norfolk Women & Girls' Football League (NWGFL) is an amateur football league for women and girls in Norfolk, England. It was founded in 1989 and currently has over 80 clubs and 1,000 players.

The NWGFL runs leagues for all ages and abilities, from under-8s to adults. There are also leagues for disability football and walking football.

The NWGFL is affiliated to the Football Association (FA) and its leagues are sanctioned by the FA. This means that players can progress to play at higher levels of football, such as the FA Women's National League.

League Structure

The NWGFL has a pyramid structure with leagues at different levels. The top level is the Women's Division 1, followed by the Women's Division 2. There are also leagues for under-16s, under-14s, under-12s, under-10s, under-8s, and disability football.

The NWGFL also runs a cup competition, the Norfolk Women's Cup. The cup is open to all clubs in the NWGFL and is played over a knockout format.

Recent Season

The 2022-23 season was the most successful season in the history of the NWGFL. The league's top two teams, Dereham Ladies and Wroxham Ladies, both won promotion to the FA Women's National League.

The NWGFL also had a number of successful cup runs. Dereham Ladies won the Norfolk Women's Cup, while Wroxham Ladies reached the final of the FA Women's National League Cup.
