Girton I Football Team

Girton I is a women's football team that plays in the Cambridge University Association Football League (CUFAFL). The team is based at Girton College, Cambridge, and is open to all students and staff of the college.

Girton I was founded in 1995, and has since won the CUFAFL league title on three occasions (2005, 2010, and 2013). The team has also reached the final of the CUFAFL Cup on four occasions, winning the trophy in 2010.

In recent years, Girton I has been one of the strongest teams in the CUFAFL. The team has finished in the top three of the league in each of the last five seasons, and has reached the final of the CUFAFL Cup in each of the last three seasons.

The current Girton I team is captained by Botty Dimanov. The team's other key players include Jamie Douthwaite, James Ballantyne, and Matthew Bibby.

The Cambridge University Association Football League (CUFAFL) is the governing body for football in Cambridge University. The league was founded in 1892, and currently consists of 32 men's teams and 16 women's teams.

Girton I fixtures

The CUFAFL is divided into three divisions: the First Division, the Second Division, and the Third Division. The top four teams in the First Division at the end of the season are promoted to the Premier League, while the bottom four teams in the Premier League are relegated to the First Division.

The CUFAFL Cup is the premier cup competition in Cambridge University football. The cup is open to all teams in the CUFAFL, and the winner of the cup qualifies for the FA Vase.
