The club was founded in 1882 and has a long history in non-league football. They have won the FA Vase twice, in 1956 and 1958, and have been runners-up in the FA Trophy twice, in 1985 and 2004.
In 2022-23, Halesowen Town finished runners-up in Division One Midlands of the Northern Premier League. They qualified for the play-offs and defeated Coleshill Town 3-1 in the semi-finals before beating Spalding United 2-1 after extra time in the final to earn promotion to the Southern League Premier Division Central.
