More about the team

At the end of the 2010-11 season Horden U21s, who had progressed through all the age groups of the Russell Foster Youth Leagues, were likely to lose a few of their players. At the same time the Horden CW Supporters Sunday Squad were also likely to lose team members. The obvious solution was to amalgamate the two teams and continue in the First Division of the Peterlee & District Sunday League.

Together they were runners-up in the 2011-12 season and thus were promoted into the Premier League. 2012-13 began with a disastrous start but they plodded on and continued to play good football, eventually finishing the season in second place.

There are few seasons so full of drama as the 2015-16 proved to be. First of all the Horden Parish Council, after a two year wait, began the refurbishment of the Crossroads Pavilion. This meant a mad dash to find a ground in order that we could fulfill our home fixture commitments. Eventually we approached Peterlee Town Council and were successful in hiring No.3 pitch at the Lowhills Road Sports Complex. This was not one of our better moves as pitch No.3 was truly one of the worst of the six pitches available. Photos and videos show that at times it was nothing more than a paddy field. The update at the Crossroads took longer than expected and at one time it looked as though we would be unable to fulfill our league commitments so we approached Horden Parish Council in the hope that we could use Welfare Park. They agreed subject to agreement of the fees. We finished the season in 3rd place and were Cup finalists in two competitions. Considering the conditions all our team deserve a medal
