West Bromwich Albion Football Club is an English professional football club based in West Bromwich, West Midlands. They compete in the Premier League, the top tier of English football. The club was founded in 1878 as West Bromwich Strollers and renamed West Bromwich Albion in 1880. They have played their home games at The Hawthorns since 1900.

History

West Bromwich Albion were one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888.
They have won the Football League First Division once, in 1919–20.
They have won the FA Cup five times, in 1888, 1892, 1931, 1954 and 1968.
They have won the Football League Cup once, in 1966.

The club's most successful period was in the 1930s, when they won the Football League First Division twice and the FA Cup once. They have also been runners-up in the FA Cup twice, in 1895 and 1968.
