The Marauders FC were founded on the 17th September 2008 at the Monteiths Khandallah Bar in Wellington. Those in attendance on that memorable evening of $19.90 steak and chips and a pint of Monteiths finest were Adam Wilson, Nathan Wooding, Jono Wyeth, David Anderson, Mark Anderson and Jared Franicevic. Originally a Summer 5-a-side team, an 11-a-side team was mooted when 4 of the originals were sat in the Deloitte lounge of Westpac Stadium munching on pizza and beers whilst watching the Wellington Phoenix. Sadly the pre-season fixture against the Phoenix at Westpac Stadium is still yet to be confirmed.
