The HJFL was founded in 1964 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league has grown steadily over the years, and currently has over 100 clubs affiliated to it.
The HJFL is divided into a number of divisions, based on the age of the players. The top division is the Premier Division, and the bottom division is the Division 10. The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the HJFL Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the Trophy.
The HJFL season runs from September to April. Each team plays a number of matches against other teams in their division. The top teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, and the bottom teams are relegated to the next division.
