Away league match played on 04 October 2009.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Lets get the moaning out of the way first. The pitch, what a joke! Not nearly wide enough and the goalposts were a foot too high. It always makes me smile that nobody clamps down on teams who blatantly play on pitches and use posts that do not meet regulations. Its set out in your hand book people, if you can read then it should be quite simple to comply!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats the grumble, what about the praise, Jack the ref did a very good job. Fair and sensible are good adjectives to describe his reffing style. Very good.

The match........we started so well, our passing and movement was very good and it was only a matter of time before we scored.                        Early on we had rattled the woodwork three times.                                Then Catty (playing in a unfamiliar role at right back) strode onto the ball and unleashed a terrific toe thruster that hit the back of the net before the goaly had moved. Ouch! Well done Brett.

We continued to dominate and Caddy caused the Wath defence loads of bother with his hustle and bustle style. On another day he could have netted a hatful.

Maddo was pulling the strings from midfield but tended to get carried away and started popping up all over the place. Getting himself hurt twice!

We continued to exert pressure and it wasn't long before we got the second. Calum curled an inswinging corner into the six yard box, Wath failed to deal with it and it struck a defenders arm, Penalty! No arguments, a stone bonker!!

Calum strode up and fired home emphatically.

Now starts the grumbling!                                                                Whats the point dominating the game, looking good for 25mins!            How many will we win by was my thoughts! Daft as a brush, I thought we would kick on and finish the job. Not likely! We've got to kill sides off when we are so much on top of them.

We stopped playing, the back four stopped picking up, the midfield started getting out of shape. I suppose our immaturity plays a part, we can lack concentration.

Just before half time Wath scored with a header from a corner. Poor marking. The attacking team should not have a player unmarked in our six yard box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a time to concede just before have time.

Half Time 1-2

Second half we did what we've become famous for. Toughin it out! Thats why we have the medals and the cups. We made sure our back six were in place (the back four and the two centre midfield boys) and we battled. There were a few scares, on the other hand we could quite easily have got another. Chris Caddy missing a good chance with ten minutes to go. Wath tried to bombard us the keeper kicking it long and every throwing went into our box. But we held firm.

This was a result that shows what a strong squad we have.                       I'd like to mention two boys for different reasons. Rodders coming back from injury did okay, he sets himself high standards (rightly so). To play as well as one can on the day is all the manager and coach can ask.        Danno making his debut did well, both players should take a lot of positives from the game. They both will play a big role this year,

One last thought for you all. There's no ME in TEAM!!!!!                           We will win and lose as a team we need the lot of you to perform and contribute. Take today as a example Sime was not well and Mr Ward wasn't here for disciplinary reasons. The players who came in did well Catty scoring, Rodders and Danno contributed and Numpt played a part. All o those guys didn't start last week but were very important today!!

Next week we have an important game against Bessacarr. May I remind one and all Bessacarr at home last year was one hell of a game. Take them lightly and they are capable of turning us over!!
