Home league match played on 21 November 2010.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

This could have been a banana skin! Donny Pumas have improved dramatically this year and on the back of a couple of excellent signings are a much improved outfit.

On the other hand after the highs of last weeks victory we could have had a bit of after the lords majors show attitude.

On a pitch which is becoming harder and harder to play on (too soft and un even) we showed that the games come alike to us.

Dingle was ill and Troz stepped down for a bit of "bench warming" This gave Wardy a chance and Simon started.

We got off to a flyer, Caddy latched onto a through ball and was felled inside the box. Maddo stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way. 1-0 (4 mins). We didn't play with much fluency for the nest ten minutes. Pumas with a five man midfield, one of which joined up with the lone striker on the attacks. This proved a bit uncomfortable for our defenders and midfielders.

Mid way through the first half Maddo and Ferg started getting on the ball and with good width from Rodders and Cal we started to dominate. This is were the story of this match develops. For the 2nd time in a month we faced Dec (the keeper) after his transfer from Hallcross to the Pumas. Again he was magnificent against us. A one man defense at times, with the help of the crossbar and some 'delicate' finishing he managed to keep us at bay. Until, Jake Canning popped up and headed home from a Rodders corner. There was tangeable relief that we had managed to breach 'the cat'.

HALF TIME 2-0

At half time we called for much of the same. We didn't disappoint. Without Dec this game could have been a double figure defeat for Pumas. Wave after wave, time after time we attacked. We managed to miss half a dozen one on ones (some were good saves from Dec.

Our third goal cam courtesy of Ferg. A delicious cross between the six yard line and the keeper. Rodders raced onto it and tapped in. 3-0

More of the same. We used up all five subs who came on and did well. We played with fluency and created a number of chances. Wardy was unlucky not to notch when he did everything right but just got a booble as he was about to strike the ball.

Our fourth goal came from a long free kick from Jake Canning, Caddy raced onto it much like the goal last week. This week was an even sweeter strike. He left DEC with no chance.

FULL TIME 4-0 (could have been 14)

Conclusion - today was about winning and not dropping silly points. Warmsworth beat Balby as we thought they might well do. So its game on now for the title. We are under serous threat for the first time in three season. Warmsworth are now the hot favourites to win the league! Can they hold their nerve!

We've just gotta keep plugging on and take one game at a time.

Good performances from just about everyone today. Which is pleasing. Jimmy coming back into the fold and doing well (get down training Jim its important). Catty again solid, especially witht the ARM BAND on! Very pleased with the forward line and some good creativity from midfield especially wide.  Keep it up boys we are the right lines.

We are getting a bit of recognition nowadays and after Rovers and Rotherham scouts watched last week. Rovers must have enjoyed it cos they came down again!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of old gents who were watching today just for the entertainment asked me to pass on the fact they thought we were a good side. Saying 'we do well to play good football on a awful pitch'! They were full of praise for you all and were well impressed.

Lastly, a bit of disappointimg news. Matty has left for pastures new. He's gone to Hallcross!!!!!!! Good luck to Mat and we'll see how he gets on when we play them in a few weeks time.
