Home league match played on 29 September 2013.
Kicked off at 12:30 PM

Today's game against Lyne was always going to be a tough one. We were playing a team that has made great strides lately and there results this season have been quite impressive. The game was a very tight one for the first 15 minutes with both side cancelling each other out and no one able to make the decisive break. All the boys put In  a fantastic effort both in attack and defence. Lyne finally got the first goal with a great left footed Finish that max could do nothing about.
At half time we talked about our passing and I asked the boys to be a little more confident when we had the ball. The second half was again very tight and I felt if we got the next goal we would go on and win the game. Both Lucas and Harvey forced their goalie into good saves. Then the sucker punch came. A quick break left their forward with a great chance and he finished well. The boys rallied really well and again we created chances. Lucas again and Harrison failed to concert when well placed. At this point I knew it wasn't going to our day!  Lyne finished the game the strongest and got another goal before the end. The boys were dead on their feet and Lyne broke to score another.
The boys were very deflated after the game but we told them these days happen. A huge pitch , no subs, no luck And a strong opposition combined for a disappointing final score. However I told the boys that they should be very proud of their efforts ( me and Dave certainly were) and start realising what good players they all are.
Max. Could do nothing with any of the goals. Saved us on several occasions when the boys tired
Tyler. Superb at the back. Kept going until the end and gave their forward a day they will not forget in a while.
Adam. Another strong game. Excellent when in possession and very strong in the tackle
Alex. Worked his socks off and made some great runs forward. Growing with every game.
Lucas. Another one who worked his socks off. Some fantastic surging runs that on another day would have ended in goals.
Harv. Superb in possession. Some delightful passing and very skilful going forward.
Harrison. Worked very hard up front with no reward. Seemed to get fouled every time he broke free!!  Unlucky with a couple of chance.

After the game I was a little disappointed but in reflection we did well. I have to take the blame for no subs and the boys were shattered on such a big pitch. Although a 3-0 sounds bad we ahead plenty of the ball and on another day would have been well in the game.
