I suppose the saying, ‘Remember remember the 5th of November’, has a different meaning this year then most. This year it seems to be for all the wrong reasons, we take the lead, we look sharp in the first 20 minuets, we have 9 or ten good corners then we totally blow up and concede 3 extremely poor goals to lose to the worst team we have played all year.

We know the first goal was offside and completely against the run of play, but the other two goals were not the same. We stopped playing and allowed the opponent to gather confidence and dominate us. We didn’t communicate or support each other and we didn’t play the system that we have been trying to promote all year. So things need to change.

My firm belief is that we need to play harder for our places each Saturday, so new blood and fresh ideas will be used in the coming weeks to try to generate the right kind of efforts from everyone and the right results this side should be achieving each and every week. Its not for me to criticise the referee too much because in all honesty he was poor for both sides, it’s not for me to have ago about the pitch or equipment because quiet frankly that’s hunting for an excuse to hide poor performances and a lack of effort.

We had a few people trying hard out there; Sam who had a screamer saved, killer and Loui M worked tirelessly, Deano played very well for 65 minuets before I changed it to obtain more width. Each of the substitutions were intended to be positive and  attacking and each came on and affected the game and added quality, so much to the fact in the finally 20 minuets we were again the better side. We also hit the bar and could of forced a different result if we just maintained our determination but in general that was it

I feel that it is right for me to outline how to win and try to support each of you the correct way so we can get the results we should. I changed the team and applied a bit of common sense and with this; Thundersley were matched in the air and for the first 20 minuets totally out played. After the goal poached by Deano from a Loui R shot we just seemed to concede ground and gave the opponent too much respect and time.

That was a bout it then lads a short match report filled with hope rather than praise, hope that one and all can see that we need to turn up and compete for 90 minuets and play together or we will be picked off by poor teams that have more experience than this side. For any one still wanting to know just how you were beat, consider this one offside goal, a really good strike from outside the box and piss poor defending for the second goal cost you respect from a weaker team and cost you a Saturday afternoons graft.

Our next game is Away to Rochford 2nds at Rochford Rec. It’s a 13 30 kick off and up for grabs in a cup semi final. Turn up lads it’s worth the effort.
