Away league match played on 16 October 2010.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

We had to make numerous changes from our last league game as Simon was on family duties and Will and Ant were both back with the 1st's, this meant that Dan and Dean made their league debuts. Eddy started at the back with Chris with Dal moving to left wing although he was supposed to be playing left back!, and Ryan J was back after his injury the previous week. After our last 2 performances I think we were a little complacent and that we would win this game without have to put too much effort in, how wrong could we have been. Chris went off after about 2 mins (and that is being generous) after tweaking his hamstring, so Dal moved into the middle with Eddy and Ryan M come off the bench and went left back.

After a good start where we should have been a couple of goals in front with Dean & Martin both having good opportunities to put us in front, we seemed to lose our momentum a little and the half seemed to fizzle out as we seemed to get frustrated with ourselves for not playing as well as we can. We need to learn not to get frustrated if things do not go our way, as this affects how we play and we can play so much better.

In the second half we changed the formation with Dean dropping a little deeper leaving Martin up top on his own. The game looked like it had nil-nil written all over it as neither team looked like scoring. Dan worked hard in midfield and was lucky not to get booked as he made numerous tackles, but I think the ref had a liking for him and let them go. Then all of a sudden the game kicked into life as All Claims scored the opener. Within 5 mins of this we should have been level, Dan had a great chance to equalise from a corner as he rose like a salmon only for the ball to hit him on the top of the head and go over. Ryan J also had a great chance but missed a 1 on 1 (for which he is being fined) Lee T replaced Dean which meant Ad moved into the middle which seemed to open the game up a little. Luis then (can’t believe he is actually claiming it) scored from a goalmouth scramble. To say it was debateable if the ball went over the line is an understatement, but the ref gave it which is all that matters. One of the All Claims players who didn’t agree with the ref told him that in no uncertain terms, to which the ref turned round told him to fuck off and throw the whistle at him, then all hell broke loose with the All Claims player telling the ref that he was going to kill his family! When he idiot finally calmed down the game restarted and from then on we were always going to win. We suddenly had a extra 20% energy and they were cooked when Martin scored a great overhead kick. Martin then finished a great move after Luis slipped him through to make it 3-1.

Just as the game was finishing Ad kicked one of their players and a scuffle broke out and the idiot run 20 yards to push him over and try and stamp on his head, the ref who was doing us both teams a favour said fuck this that’s it and blew the whistle.

A couple of things to take from the game lads firstly the 2 nuts on Rick (which I don’t think anyone else noticed) and secondly we have to stop going a goal down before we start upping our game.

You will also be pleased to know we will playing in your favourite kit again this week.

We have got Earls Hall this week so let’s make sure we start quicker and don’t take it for granted that we are going to win before the game has started.
