Away league match played on 14 March 2013.
Kicked off at 9:30 AM

With Dave and Ben both back from their absence, The Boners faced Deportivo with a full team.  The Boners were full of confidence having annihilated their opposition 10-1 in their previous encounter.

Changes were made and Abbot & Dave started with Top Scorer Darbinho and in form Kev Saunders warming the bench.

FC BarcaBoneHer started confidently with slick passing and movement. Santi reverted to his passing prowess to slide the ball across the goal in the early moments, the ball begging to be tapped into the back of the bet.

The Boners continued to dominate; “The Bear” Peggs was found following a marauding run forward and headed the ball back across the goal, The Boners a little flat footed unable to convert the chance.

The goal game shortly after as The Boners once again unravelled the Deportivo defence and Captain “Sylvester” Sloane was found and coolly slotted the ball into the back of the net. 1-0 to the Boners!

Changes made; Darbinho and Super Kev on for Sloane and Peggs respectively. It wasn’t too long before The Boners were 2-0 up, a short corner from Dave found Darbinho who rocketed the ball past the keeper into the back of the net, a sublime finish.

What looked like was going to be another mauling quickly turned into panic as the Boners became dominated and torn apart. Some amazing saves from Ryan “Pete” Bogdan and courageous defending from Abbott were in vane as unsurprisingly the goal eventually came and The Boners were pegged back 2-1.

FC BarcaBonerHer refuelled their fire and with their opposition beginning to tire, they began to press hard once more. Peggs lofted a precision long ball forward which found Darbinho, Darbinho let fly with an outrageous thunderbolt which flew into the back of the net from an awkward angle. Most of The Boner team couldn’t see it, let alone the Deprtivo Keeper. However, the striker’s smug reaction was a dead giveaway as to what had happened. The score now 3-1 to The Boners.

The Boners went on to bag their fourth through Abbott who finally broke his duck with a confident finish into the bottom corner. Whats this? Disallowed for a foul on Baraca player? Outrageous refereeing meant Abbott remained on 0 goals for the two seasons. THE BASTARDS!!

The fourth came eventually came, following some excellent passing from The Boners, Darbinho put through Playermaker Dave, who not to be out done by Darbinho also scored with an outrageous effort from a tight angle, clipping the bar on its way in. 4-1 to The Boners.

The Boners should have put a few more past their opposition with Darbinho hitting the post twice late on to scupper his chance of another hat trick. Santi also hit the post and was unable to convert a chance late on following an excellent pass across the box from Dave.

The game finished 4-1 and although the Boners had expected more and could have had more it was another well-earned 3 points.

The Boners now face their rivals Old Skool in what is a game that will make or break their season. The crunch game. A win will see The Boners hold a 5 point lead over their rivals. However, a loss will see The Boners slip 1 point behind at this late stage in the season and in turn lose their lead at the top of the table which they have held from day 1.

Old Skool always bring out the best in The Boners and their rivals appear all the more beatable following their scrappy 3-2 win over Unathletic. Although nothing can be taken for granted and The Boners are aware this is a must win game!!

UP THE BONERS!!!
