Away league match played on 21 March 2013.
Kicked off at 8:00 AM

The crunch game was finally here. It was Old Skool Vs FC BarcaBoneher!!

FC BarcaBoneHer were with full strength side for the meeting, albeit Darbinho was nursing a rib Injury following a “Rock Bottom” on the Gaffer on their tour at Kempton Races.

The game started in the expected high tempo fashion, both teams looking for the win, attack followed by counter attack was the name of the game.

Following a 10 minute period of neither team being able to find the break through, it was The Boners who found them self behind. A nightmare start for the Boners!

Changes were made and on came the fresh legs of Abbott and Pedro.

As Old Skool continued to press for a 2nd it was Ryan “Peter” Chandler who rallied the Boners. Following a magnificent save the keeper dropped the ball and exploded up  field with 3 Boners going with him. It was 4 vs 1. Ryan slotted the ball to Darbinho who knocked it round the Old Skool keeper for Pedro to turn in to the empty net. A magnificent team goal putting the Boners back on level terms at 1-1.

Following some more end to end football it was the Boners who went on to take the initiative, Playmaker Dave put through Pedro on the right of midfield who rattled his effort past the helpless Old Skool keeper. Was it the new boots!?

The game then started to get dirty as the Boners had Old Skool Rattled. Tackles were flying in from every angle, possibly making the Boners the most fouled team in the league.

This gave the Boners a real fire in their belly! They wanted to end the game by getting a third. Looking to counter the tiring Old Skool once more; Sloane fed Darbinho on the left wing who turned the Old Skool right winger. Darbinho played in Peggs who switched flanks, however a stray Boner touch fell kindly to the feet of the Old Skool Striker who levelled the proceeding at 2 apiece.

Following some courageous defending from Kev and Abbott at the back it was the Boners who pushed hard for the winner. Darbinho went on to rattle the bar late on and excellent counter attack lead to Dave setting up Pedro at the last minute. However, the Old Skool defender quickly pounced on the ball to scupper the chance of a Hat trick.

A good all round performance saw the game finish at 2-2. The Boners still 5 points ahead of their rivals having played an extra game.

FC Barcaboneher face Unathletic on Thursday with Old Skool travelling to Any Old Iron who were in form following their 4-2 victory over Los Pollos. The Boners know if Any Old Iron can get any result against Old Skool, a win against Unatheltic would only need them to beat the Gurkhas to Clinch the Title.

UP THE BONERS!!
