Away league match played on 30 January 2011.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Another league game for Freehouse saw them tackle Universal a side they had never played before, again with players missing the team was changed Matt Jenkins returned to the back four, Shaun Hounsome pushed on to right wing & Dan(buka)Deacon passed a late fitness test to partner Wayne Lawton in the centre of midfield. A very cold morning the pitch frozen solid the game went ahead. Freehouse made a few early errors Jenkins being at the heart of them lacking match fitness from previous weeks it showed, "Hows your touch?" coming from the sides lines as he missed controlled then passed to their forward... with that out the way Freehouse soon picked up where they left off the week before, S.Hounsome looked like a new player flying down the right wing he had vison & touch like an young McManaman terrorising the full back at every chance, each time he got the ball Freehouse looked dangerous. It wasnt long before the deadlock was broken. It came from an old routine Lawton's deadly long throw into the box met by the head of Dave Ough. 0-1. The pressure continued, S.Housome again the main threat his low driven ball into the box arrived Nathen Hickley to hit first time, though the keeper got a hand to it there was too much power. 0-2. Freehouse were enjoying most off the possession their only ever danger was when Jenkins had the ball. The third goal was soon to arrive again suppled by S.Hounsome to twin Ben(10)Hounsome his shot brilliantly saved by the keeper but pushed out to Terry Cook who couldnt miss 8yards out. 0-3. Freehouse could & should off had double figues by half time, Lawton, Hickley, Cook, Ben(10) & Andy Shaw all guilty off missing chances. Much the same was the order at the break & thats what happened though trying to break the dodgy linesman off side call became harder with each passing minute but goal number four was soon on the cards, great play by Buka Deacon & Hickley set Cook away to smash home his second of the game (5 in 2) 0-4. After a clean sheet by stand-in keeper Ough two weeks ago, it was on Jack Tabbner's mind but it wasnt too come a sloppy freekick given away edge off the box was dispatched bottom left corner nothing (One Hand) Tabbner could do 1-4. That wasnt the end off the goals dispite looking Universal's best player Jenkins popped up to make in five, another long throw into the box by Lawton only half cleared to Jenkins egde of the box, a nine iron swing (Tiger Woods Style) manage to go through the crowd off players under the keeper and trickle over the line. 1-5. An excellent result with some great play at times. Freehouse now only need 7pts from their remaining 5 games to win the league.

MoM - Nathan Hickley
