Back to winning ways!

After a couple of close defeats, the boys bounced back with a good win against Morpeth Pumas. Much credit to the Puma's a new side, who never let their heads go down, and battled hard to the whistle. Look very good breaking forward.

Told the boys before hand to get it wide, and then cross the ball into the middle, first two quarters we did listen to this and played some nice football. But the last quarter was too much individual play, everyone wanting to score.  We told the boys at the end, they need to listen and concentrate more if we want to step up to the next level. They are more than capable of matching the likes of Storm & Coast Soccer, just having the desire and work rate to compete. Attitude amongst a number of players is also holding them back.

First Quarter - Joseph, Harry, James, Sam, Elliott, Josh Dylan

2mins - Good teamwork, led to Dylan finishing nicely in the box. 4 mins - Elliott shot went wide  5 mins - Corner ball bobbled around found its way to Josh who hit it sweetly leaving keeper no chance 2-0 6mins - Elliott good shot just wide 10mins - Sam shot wide, 11 mins - Joseph came out well and made strong block. 12mins another corner another scramble then another good finish 3-0 end of first quarter.

Second Quarter -Aaron Harry James Sam Elliott Josh Dylan

13 mins Great passing football between Josh, Dylan, Elliott - shot well saved. A minute later Josh shot saved. 14mins Sam shot just wide. 16 Sam shot saved 18 Sam shot saved 19 Josh shot well saved. 21 James shot hit post came our 23 Sam shot wide 23 Elliott shot/cross deflected into goal by morpeth player. 24 Hard Elliott shot saved by keeper - Dylan on hand to tap in 5-0. A very good quarter full of good passing and plenty of movement.

Third Quarter - Aaron Sam Harry Joseph Elliott Dylan Dane SUB Bradley for Joseph

27mins - Elliott great corner - Dylan Super Header just wide 28 mins Dane shot well blocked 30mins Dylan blocked 34 Elliott shot wide  -  The battling Pumas broke nicely in this quarter playing the ball around nicely, and their hard work was rewarded with a good finish after a goal mouth scramble. Sam also had to put in a great rescue tacjket to keep them out. We stopped working hard in this quarter, and became too individual in our play.  End of 3rd 5-1

Fourth Quarter - Aaron Harry James Josh Elliott Sam Dylan - SUB Dane for Dylan.

Josh hit a good shot just wide at the start of the quarter then a long range shot was well saved by the keeper, On 41 minutes though the excellent keeper could do nothing about the next effort a long range shot from Elliott which was deflected in by Sam.  6-1 Yes Sam I will give you that one as you changed the direction of the ball,  regarding the other one you were claiming I think that more hit you and went in!  Where is the dubious goal panel when you need them? Still you win some you lose some Sam.  Puma were now finding lots of space coming forward, and after some nice football, it was an excellent finish to make it 6-2. There was still time for Elliott to hit the post, Dane to just shoot wide, and Elliott to hit a ball right accross the goal and out of play 6-2.

First two quarters some good team football and was good to see us get a couple of goals from corners after practicing them in warm up. Need to remember your set positions boys, as this was out of the window in third and fourth quarters. Let the ball do the work boys you are more than capable, its a team game! That win guarantees barring miracles from one other side a top 6 finish!!!!!!  So that is a fantastic achievement lads with a couple of games to go! A fifth place finish is now the aim, lets keep it going. Place in top 6 means we will be in top three divisions after the Christams break. So that is a rise of two divisions on last year! That is when the hard work will begin, tricky games week in week out. A challenge we are more than capable of meeting head on, if we start to listen and have right attitude.

Quick run down of players - Joseph - Great block looking good in goal, BAD attitude though let him down resulting in very little game time outfield - Needs to knuckle down and concentrate on playing football. James - A good solid game some excellent blocks. Harry - Superb at the back made every challenge cleared every ball. Josh - Excellent going forward - showed a superb attitude of late battling hard and playing well for his starting place and more game time, need to remember the tracking back!  Elliott - High work rate excellent play, again though attitude could be more focussed, which will make you a even better player. Sam - All action very good display - need to work back as well. Dylan - Continuing good form of late got 3 goals and maybe could have had another three or four - highlight for me was the header from Corner! Again though watch attitude when subbed, poor reaction,  it is a team game!  Aaron - Quiet game when called upon did nothing wrong, good kicking. Dane - Trying hard, need to relax when getting chances in area. Bradley - Superb enthusiasm and showing great attitude, learning the game with a smile on the face.

Away coach's MOM Dylan, and after knocking on the door over last few games, he is also the home coach's choice, keep up the great form Dylan!  This was a very tight decision though with Harry & Elliott pushing him close, and the rest of the boys not far behind.

Training cancelled at St Benet Biscops - New time and venue to be advised.
