Away league match played on 22 September 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

This was a Jekyll & Hyde performance from the boys, first half winning the midfield battles passing well, and finishing well.

Second half poor structure, lost the midflield battles and offered little.

Five changes to the starting line up with Ethan, Kieran, Mason, Luke & Joe B coming into the team.

From the start we threatened with two chances in opening minutes first ball was cleared off the line, and then a good lob from Luke looked destined for the net but for it to bounce just over the cross bar. Pressure paid off when Luke put Joe B through and he finished from distance.  Guide Post dominated and a poor goal kick was pounced upon from Luke who made no mistake.  Good play then set up Luke for his second, with another smart finishNice passing then set up the fourth , from the right it went over to Kieran on the left, and from well outside the box he drilled a beatiful low shot to beat the keeper. To round off the half, again Guide Post pressuriesed the goal kick, Joe B reading it well winning the ball taking it on and smashing past the keeper. Five to the good at the break and we had rarely been threatened. Coaches then thought it was ideal chance to change things round, but on this occasion this back fired.

Greens who must have had a good chat at the interval came out much more determined and started to have a lot more possession. Guide Post lost their shape, and offered little, pressure finally paid off when good team work got a deserved goal for the Greens. We looked stretched and two defensive mistakes gave Greens further goals, first Ethan playing to the blue rather than white lines, stopped playing and allowed the opposition to cross for striker to score, then a long shot unfortunately went through Cam's hands. These things happen such a hard position to be in is the keeper position, as a mistake normally results in goal. Cam as ever made some good saves in this game.

For man of the match, didn't get a decision from the away coach, but both myself and john came up with two suggestions, firstly Mason who was really good at the back, while up front Luke led the line really well and most of our best attacking play went through him.  So will say away coach man of the match Mason, home coaches decision Luke. Joe B playing his first game for the U11 side also impressed with two goals and strong tackling in the middle.

Lets pick up on the positives of the first half and we will forget the second half.  Rest assured in tighter games won't be as many changes to disrupt our ruthym.

Many Thanks to Hexham for hosting, was a lovely pitch to play on while the young referee was excellent. The team also showed a great team spirit to fight back and really push us close in second half. All the best for the rest of the season.

Well done all our lads for getting first three points of the season, look forward to playing at home next week when we entertain Cramlington United.
