Away league match played on 17 November 2012.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

After three weeks without a win, boys had to work really hard for the three points, coming back from two down to snatch the points.

We started well, nice passing was creating the space for joe b to create lots of problems down the right, best chance was when joe B put in a great ball for Ryan, who did the hard part by beating the keeper, but rather than trusting his left foot to roll the ball home, tried to get on his stronger right foot and this gave opportunity for dfender to get back and block.  Another good ball from Joe B to Ryan but he was just offside when one on one with keeper. joe B and Luke also went close.  Tynemouth Blues then started to come back into the game, after a set piece the ball was cleared but we didnt push out quick enough and the ball was deflected through to striker who made no mistake giving Cam no chance.

Blues were now first to the ball in the middle of the park, and we were now under pressure unable to get our passing going, the second Blues came soon after, when we learned the lesson of playing to the whistle! It was a bad tackle near half way and our players stopped as they thought the ref would blow up for a frree kick, but as a good referee should he played advantage and a quick ball though led to the striker again giving Cam no chance.

We were now under pressure with Cam having to deal with some long range efforts, we thought we would be back in the game when we were awarded a penalty for pulling on Luke, but from the penalty spot Luke hit a tame effort down the middle for the keeper to make a easy save.  Boys though still were not downhearted and started to come more into the game, a long clearance down middle and Joe B coming in from the wing controlled well with his head on halfway then won the foot race with defender, when the keeper came out to block he skillfully put it past him and despite the defenders best efforts he couldnt stop the ball going in. An excellent individual goal.  We went close to equalising in the last five minutes but a good save and the ball just going wide meant we were 2-1 down at the break.

Second half and it was end to end stuff, on about 40 minutes we did draw level, not sure if it was Cam or Mason put a long low ball down the middle for Luke to run on to, and he slotted home nicely past the keeper who had rushed out, a clinical calm finish.  With 20 to go it was anyones game, Blues were putting us under a lot of pressure from corners, but Mason and Cam were strong, with Olly as ever working so hard to stop the opposition. With about 8 minutes to go, on one of only two corners we had got we made it count, Joe B taking it from the left, a whipped in low ball which was deftly flicked in by Ethan Slater!  Blues pressed forward and there were a number of close calls before the end near our goal, while at the other end Luke rattled the bar from well outside the area with a stunning shot!  Ryan switched to up from was getting into the game, as we took the game to them.  It was though a sense of relief when the ref blew the final whistle to give Guide Post the narrow victory.

Not our best peformance, didnt get our passing going as well as last week, but it certainly was a brave one to come back from two down, so well done all the boys!

For man of the match, Cam was given the man of the match by the away coaches just pipping Luke, handling was superb in tricky conditions, and Cams kicking was first class!  For the home coaches decision, this was close once again, Luke excellent again up front, Olly mr consistant hard working as ever, while Mason was very strong at the back, but for his clever runs, getting an assist for winning goal, and a great individual first goal we gave the decision to Joe B!

Well done all the boys, next week will be another hard game when we welcome KYPC Storm to our Welfare ground.
