Home league match played on 08 October 2011.
Kicked off at 1:00 PM

In the second game of the day we had told the lads to go out and do what they do best and to put some of the below par performances behind them.

The weather never got any better but the football did. It was a really exciting game to watch and after last week when we couldn't make a substitution this week we could so everyone seemed to play with a lot more zip and energy.

Harry didn't have too much to do in the first 20 mins but anything he did do he did effortlessly, Josh and Liam were rocks again at the back and never panicked when put under pressure. The three amigos (sorry) midfielders of Hayden Luke and Adam were playing some glorious football and the one touch passing and the link play was sublime. Alex carried on from last week holding the ball up and laying it into space.

The only thing that was missing was being clinical near to goal,we seemed to get into some really good positions but stuttered when the chances were there, thus never ever troubling the Chadderton goalkeeper.

Billy made his debut coming on as a sub today and was always eager to get on the ball and will get better as the season goes on.

A really good first half from the lads and we were thinking that it maybe wasn't going to be our day.

Half Time - Heyside Jnrs F.C. A 0 Chadderton F.C. Jnrs A 0.

More of the same and you could see everyone enjoying their football today,Chaddy again were a very difficult team to break down (like it was in the first game)so a bit of good fortune eventually came our way.

A good passage of play with Luke winning the ball in midfield, he then slotted it through to Adam who looked up and passed it to Hayden who took it round the defender and slammed a shot at the goalkeeper who let it squirm through his fingers into the back of the net to give us the advantage 1-0.

More attacks came as the game was getting very open and so did the next goal, Hayden took the ball to the by-line and centered it unselfishly to Adam. Adam slighltly miss hit his shot and again it was hard luck on Chaddys keeper as the ball slipped through his gloves and dropped into the net 2-0.

As in the first half chances are being created but we have to put them away against all the good teams in this division, so maybe thats something that we will have to work on this season.

Josh and Liam again stood firm in this half and are making these positions their own. Luke was back to his best today and linked the moves well to wings and down the middle and was very confident all game.A good debut from Billy who will only get better by playing and training with his new team mates. Alex is now starting to show that he too is becoming more confident and his hold up play was outstanding and had a very good game.

A few jittery moments then came, maybe it was a wrong time to make a substitution as this confused the lads and slightly messed up our formation, blame must be put on the coaches for this not the players.

Chadderton got a goal back with some good wing play and an unlucky Harry who tried in vain to keep a clean sheet but it wasn't to be ...2-1 and game on.

One of the last attacks from Heyside should really have put the game out of reach with a 3 vs 1 situation but again it was slow rather than quick and the last defender did really well to thwart us.

Full Time - Heyside Jnrs F.C. A 2 Chadderton F.C. Jnrs A 1.

Well done and massive improvement this week showing that we can do it when we want to and not one player let the team down today. Good defending, brilliant midfield work and some good attacking play from all of the team which shows that when 100% determination is given we can be a very difficult team to beat.

Again thanks to Chadderton(and a very good ref) as this game was played in a really good spirit and good luck to them for the season.

M.O.T.M. went to Hayden as his all round game today was excellent and his goal wrapped up a superb performance.

Lets be up for it next week for the Primary Cup and show that we too can be one of the best teams in all divisions !!
