Menanians Celebrate Xmas with a Win!!! <p style="text-align: center;">&nbsp; <p style="text-align: center;">The Menanians were strengthened for the clash with Klassified by the return of Plumpton and Pratt. This was billed as the game of the night and was described by an onlooker as a real blood and thunder affair! <p style="text-align: center;">The Menian lads were sporting their new 1-2-2 tactic with Dobson and Horncastle leading from the front and Si Rigg taking it from the back, just how he likes it! <p style="text-align: center;"> <p style="text-align: center;">The game began with both teams feeling each other out and a couple of half chances came and went for Dobson. Dobson then decided his poor play was too much for his team mates and sensationally withdrew himself from the field of battle, to be replaced by usual stand in keeper Disco Dave. <p style="text-align: center;">The first bit of magic was just around the corner as Horncastle and Plumpton showed some neat interplay in the right corner of the pitch, with Horncastle knocking the ball into Plumptons feet before swivling and hitting a left footed&nbsp;swinger at the Klassified keeper who promptly threw it in the net! A lucky goal maybe but remember if you dont buy a ticket you wont win the raffle!!&nbsp;Write that down..... <p style="text-align: center;">Pratt pulled off a couple of show stopping saves from distance to keep the Inter lads in front. <p style="text-align: center;">Half Time 1-0 <p style="text-align: center;">The second half got under way with Dobson really not getting to grips with the ferocious pace of the game, he was in truth lucky not to be subbed again! <p style="text-align: center;">Willan and Rigg marshalled the defence with Plumpton breaking up the play from the middle, which gave the Menanians a platform they have not yet seen this season. The forthcoming clean sheet was saved early in the second half by a knee scraping slide tackle by Horncastle, which in truth should of seen him heading to the showers. Luckily he didnt otherwise Rigg would of almost certainly left the field of play and followed and left the lads with only 5 men! <p style="text-align: center;">Deep into the second period after more good saves and indifferent throwing by Bambi, Willan went on a pulsating run into Klassified territory, only to be hauled down 14 1/2 yards out. Horncastles quick thinking gave the Menanians a 2 goal lead as he thundered the free kick through the Klassified keeper who was just having a real Frank Sinclair! <p style="text-align: center;">It was all hands to the pump as Klassifield knocked the ball about and pressed for a reply only to see Pratt in sparkling form and looking like he had never been away. <p style="text-align: center;">The game finished with Klassified taking the possesion statistic but the Menanians leaving with 3 points and a clean sheet, a good end to the calender year! <p style="text-align: center;">Have a good Xmas and remember to keep in shape for the New Year! <p style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;
