Inter Menan 0 vs 2 Royal Oak

Oak Down Menan in Derby Day Win! <p style="text-align: center;">With once again several 1st team Menanians absent from the team Menan succombed to only their 2nd defeat of the league season and ends their run of 9 straight wins. <p style="text-align: center;">Moorhouse started the game in the unfamiliar role of net tender and became Menans 5th keeper of the season!!!! Atkinson also made his debut in the famous tangerine strip, little did he know it was going to be a debut to forget. <p style="text-align: center;">Inter Menan actually started the brighter side with some early opportunities with Dobson repeatedly trying to test Hyde in the Oak goal who was in tip top sparkling form. Willan then got in on the act blazing the matchball at least 30 foot over the astro fence and holding the game up for a good 5 minutes. <p style="text-align: center;">The first real turning point came on 10 minutes and set the tone for an overall poor performance as Plumpton picked up the ball 10 yards from his own goal and looked up ready to pick out a beckham style ball for a team mate to run on to..... when suddenly everyone froze like statues and a pass to Ward's feet was intercepted leaving an Oak player through on Moorhouse's goal, unfortunately for Menan and Plumpton the Oak player did the business. <p style="text-align: center;">After going a goal down for the first&nbsp;time in weeks this was a big test for the newly put together Menanians as they again pressed forward looking for goal getting action which sadly never came. <p style="text-align: center;">Half time Inter Menan 0 v 1 Royal Oak <p style="text-align: center;">More Inter pressure and posession was to follow with no cutting edge up top. Plumpton was next to draw a cracking save from Hyde after a good lay off from Willan on the left. Dobson again failed to beat his local goalkeeping hero as he drew blank after blank. <p style="text-align: center;">With the possesion stat 80 - 20 in Menan favour Oak did have a rare counter attack which brought a terrific safe from Moorhouse. Shortly after Dobson flicked the ball past D.Fowler only for him to use his hand basketball stylie to stop our no 9 going through on goal. <p style="text-align: center;">After more failed efforts at goal Royal Oak midfielder Sample bought up a bit of time in the right corner much to the annoyance of Willan who poleaxed him. The resulting quick free kick found an almost empty net as Moorhouse was setting up his defence and had left the near post as unguarded as it gets. <p style="text-align: center;">With no time left Al Marshall signalled the end of the game and most probably Inter Menans title hopes with the management left rueing the lack of options in the playing staff. The signals are the same as seasons gone by with different players every week leading to the seasons downfall. Is there any hope for Inter Menan to save the season?? Will Eastfield beat Tidy and regain their title hope and keep us in it?
