Menan Miss chance to go top after Rooney Obi Shin Kinobi!

The most dissapointing performance in recent Menan history saw the boys pass up a glorious chance to climb some serious ground on defeated Tidy Star FC.
An Adam Thickett sliced effort over Menan number 1 Tony Ross left the tangerine faithful feeling sick in the bottom of their stomachs. A real shame as a recent high of 6 had turned out to cheer on the boys, including clubmen Pratt and Ward, who is sadly missing for a number of games due to a serious smoking injury to his rolling finger!
A much changed Menan team took to the field with Hamilton almost over shadowing the game itself with a ing pair of shorts which were pulled up nipple high. A source close to the scottish midfielder said "he always wears them like this, he just loves the feel of them grating on his dangly". Also taking to the hallowed turf was Menan Seamer Sports tournament and joint top scorer Josh Greening.
Menan bossed the opening exchanges and came close down the right as Dorey found himself in acres of space, before slamming the ball into the factory at the Factory Road End. The youthful Inter Menan side had started brightly and were bossing the game as Dorey slipped Patterson in down the left and he released a drive which Oak keeper couldnt keep out to take our boys in to the lead.
The crowd were expecting the boys to push on and take the game by the naddleberries which sadly tonight just wasnt the case. Some sloppy forward play let Royal Oak into the game and made Tony Ross (50) earn his corn in net.
Just before the break Menan turned on the style like a Girls Aloud sell out tour as they came within inches of doubling the lead with Patterson seeing his strike come back off the woodwork.
Half time 1 v Neil
It was 3rd, possibly 4th gear stuff as the Menanians strolled about like a set of two dollar ho's patrolling the streets and Oak were beginning to take heart. Team key man Osguthorpe began to win the duels in midfield and pick out some balls very similar to his West Ham hero Boa Morte.
The football on show by the home side was nothing short of dogga as passes were being misplaced and first touches bouncing away like a Jordan sex video.
Willan did produce a moment of magic with his left footed wand as he rifled a shot off the far right post on the newly purchased and incredibly terrific 6 a side goals!
A moment of controversay came as Plumpton shared a one-two with Patterson who broke clear upon Fowler's goal only to see his shot parried, just as he was to hammer the rebound home he found himself felled with no free kick in sight!
Suddenly from absolute nowhere the midfield general that is Osguthorpe found himself in space, the Menan crowd gasped as he sent over a hollywood pass to Adam "Rooney" Thickett who shinned the ball over the onrushing Ross to tie the scores at 1 a piece.
Sadly their was no cutting edge and a serious lack of cohesion within the side. News filtered through after the game as the Menan players got the news in the dressing room that TidyStar had been demolished 3-Neil meaning tonights point had cut the lead to two but most importantly left them feeling "oh what could of been". For no reason Willan attempted to hug Patterson, who was having none of it and told him to stop being batty as he wasn't into any of that......
The Man of the match was picked out by Scarborough FC legend Don Page and was presented to Royal Oak's Geoff Osguthorpe for an accomplished Xavi like perfomance in the Oak ranks.
The Titanians visit the Pindar Astro Arena with The Menanians surely up for bigger and better games!!! UP MENAN!!!
