What wonderful weather!!! All 12 players turned out, with 4 lots of 15 mins to be played..
1-0 up very early after great strike from Josh. Soon became 2-0 after clever play from TH sent RD through, who'd made a late run,to toe poke in the goal. Third came from EHE down the left side. 3-0 up
7 mins gone and coaching thinking about how to keep the score under control. Not to worry our boys sorted that, after a poor piece of defending u10 panthers got one back a good strike that went over the keeper. Last few minutes scrappy with poor decision making up front and passive defending. End of first quarter.
2nd quarter was a quiet affair. One goal scored by EHE after a break down left wing.
3rd quarter A goal from JC following up on a shot to make it 5-1.
Final goal. This time excellent corner from EH to give RD his 5th headed goal of the season and final score 6-1.
Mixed performance, some nice football to open up the opposition defence. Some excellent play in midfield. However, the performance clearly illustrates why we are struggling points wise in Div 1. A number of players can be too passive and defensively as a team there are just too many mistakes. (Lack focus). Understanding dangerous areas of space and defending them, needs more work. Also the kick and Chase attacking style sometimes being adopted is too easy to defend..I suspect I'm being a little harsh, but I always separate out performance from the scoreline.
Tea was lovely and I think the boys enjoyed the game...
