An-Doh strikes again!

Radford Semele continued with this remarkable winning run which now stretches into five months of total football.  Despite coming up against a lively Khalsa team and starting off slowly another 3 points were well taken.

We were worried before the game as rumours circulated that influential midfielders Seb and Ando crawled into bed at 5am and our fears were worsened when Ando turned up without his shin-pads and his shorts and then proceeded to forget that he actually played for Radford Semele for the 1st 45 minutes!!!

A very slow start to the game livened up when Matty chased a through ball and was tripped for a penalty which Ando tucked away to give us a 0-1 lead.  As we struggled to find our feet and compose ourselves a defensive mistake allowed Khalsa to break through and fire into the net for an equaliser 1-1.  Now……..we knew we were gaining a reputation as the team to beat in the league but the celebrations that followed the Khalsa goal showed just how much it means for teams playing us and what a difference a year has made………………..No one likes us – we don’t care!

Some comedy finishing from Lee and Juddy brought some light entertainment to a very dull 1st half before Moses linked up superbly with his strike partner resulting in Lee tucking home for a 1-2 half time lead.

A more positive start to the second half and a whipped cross from Ando saw Will ‘Bear’ burden licking his lips as Stevie B rose like a fresh water salmon to nod home for a 1-3 lead.  Matty Anderson ever vocal on the pitch burst away from his marker leaving a trail of Khalsa defenders behind only to realise he had also left the ball behind!!!

Big Will was using his strength effectively and held off a challenge to turn and with a sight on Goal the giant redwood fell into the crowded box……….Will appealing for a penalty realising that the only outcome would be that some small forest animals would not survive the fall.  Ando not one for letting anyone else be better than him…………..dived in the penalty box shortly after with his Peter Kay esque dive bomb.

Back to football Mr Quiet Paul Wilkinson decided he fancied playing a game of football and after latching onto a through ball from Ando he chipped the keeper from the edge of the box to put us 1-4 up before Beeb showed how aggressive he can get when he is behind a man, giving away a penalty which was converted for 2-4.

Will continuing his comeback from injury was looking more and more dangerous laid the ball off to Ando who shimmied his way past the defence and struck the ball in off both posts to give us a 2-5 victory and squash and ideas Khalsa had of a comeback.

Keep smiling boys the league is ours to win……
