My Big Day Out – By Paul Wilkinson

Today was very exciting for me.  Not only was I going to get to play football with my friends again but Uncle Terry had agreed to take me to McDonalds.  I was really hungry so when I finished mine I finished Terry’s too.  We then went off football where Uncle Terry let me play with the broom………he said I was the best sweeper ever – I wasn’t very happy as I like to play as a striker.

After the football match Uncle Terry let me go to the pub where I was allowed to drink beer.  I don’t think it agrees with me as a I fell off my chair.  But fuelled with alcohol and confidence I came up with a really good match report that Owen agreed I could put on the internet and everything.  So:

On a gusty day Hat Trick hero Paul Wilkinson was not affected by the adverse weather conditions! Desperate to over take Radford’s top goal scorer Lee Watton, Wilkinson was in a determined mood showing his prowess in the first 5 minutes but air shooting at the vital moment! Un- phased he continued to drive the team forward and eventually broke the deadlock on 15 minutes, calmly slotting home from 15 yards for 1-0.

His second came ten minutes later after beating the offside trap and turning past the advancing keeper! 2 - 0 Radford with Wilkinson on fire! His Hat Trick was completed on 70 minutes after good work by Jason Rowe, the ever persistent  Wilkinson with Tevez style approach  picked up the loose pieces tricking two defenders and the keeper to slot into the top left hand corner! Game, set, match!!

In reality……….Wilko managed to fluff an abundance of chances but the boy came good with his three goals.  Moses made a nuisance of himself throughout the match to mark a welcome return to the starting 11 and despite not being able keep up his recent goal a game ration, Ando proved to be influential with three assists.  Wilkos goals were bolstered by a strike from Rowie and a sublime finish from Lee after a magical pass from Ando.

Final Score 5-1 – through to the next round of the cup and competition for places sky high………lovely!!!
