RADFORDS UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES

Back over to Newbold Comyn for the first league game of the season against a very strong and well organised Royals team.  We were looking to see how far we had come as a team since being well beaten by Royals in the cup earlier in the season and the lads didn’t let us down.  Well..........Ando did.

Nice to see the big Bear making new friends before the game kicked off and once again showing that Radford's care in the community venture is going strong.  Also credit to our opponents for stating that teams are ensuring they have their strongest teams out against us as we are the team to beat.  That’s credit to all the boys for a superb season so far.

The game was scrappy for most of the first half and with the pitch being rock hard it was a real game of ping pong for most of the first half an hour.  Good chances being missed by Lee & Wilko and some early saves from Malc came before a peach of a ball from Seb found Lee who smashed into the top corner to give us a 1-0 half time lead.

We started the second half well and again I thought we looked the better team.  Moses made way for Matty after a tireless display and with Royals threatening Malc made another stop to keep us in the game.

We have had a few of the guys forgetting what sport they should be playing throughout the season but never did I think I would see a player pirouetting in the centre circle like Matty did!!!  These Andersons aint half good at all sports.

The big Bear came on and immediately started trying to claw away at the opposition defence although I’m sure his new football friend did him a favour by not booking him for some of his challenges.

Unfortunately for the ref I think he made a terrible decision to give Royals a free kick after Royals blew the advantage they had and surprise surprise they scored from it. 1-1.

We are gearing up to the most important game of the season against the Police in a few weeks and each and every one of the lads is playing well but a special mention to Callum for playing what I thought was his best game of the season.  Goes to show that if you keep working hard your chance will come.

A result that fairly reflected the game but just a horrible way to drop two points...........
