Ando Buckfasts Juniors

A midweek break away to Glasgow was on the cards for a number of players this week as Radford Semele FC went on a mission to try and improve some of the poorer parts of the great City.  Not only did this prove to be a great PR exercise but we have some friends for life.  Wilko in particular who purchased some local drink for one parched teenager.  Remember – a half bottle of Buckfast will keep a Ned going all night.

Other ideas to raise the spirits in Scotland were the ‘’3 Poo pile up’’ challenge which was an experience………….’’Ando’s naked motorway’’ challenge and Simmy’s ‘’Not allowed to bite for at least a minute’’ challenge which he unfortunately failed.  All in all it was a great trip despite the gas leak delaying the journey home.

So from Glasgow to Newbold Comyn and a game against a team a league above us and a chance for us to see how far we had come since relegation last year.  An inspired change from Owen before the game which was to put the pest on the goalkeeper for corners paid dividends as the pest, Wlko tucked away on the rebound after a header by Ando was saved by the keeper inside the first 2 minutes for a 1-0 lead.

Five minutes later our man Seb who’s delivery service is proving more reliable than Royal Mails whipped a free kick into the box and a glancing header from Wilko gave us a 2-0 lead.  After a couple of fluffed chances from Wilko who seemed to be struggling from an injury he skinned the defender on the right flank and crossed for Moses who hit sweetly from 20 yards and watched the ball fly into the corner for 3-0.

The right hand side was causing Juniors all sorts of problems with Stevie B and Callum linking up well and after Wilko beat the offside trap he assisted for Ando for a 4-0 lead.

The team was playing superbly from back to front.  Malc though rarely troubled was comfortable when he was………..Clarkie had left his calling card on a few of their players…….Beeb’s pace was frightening…………..the ever reliable Callum………….Midfield were playing the ball about like they were Barcelona and the strikers already had three between them…………so Ando had to try and steal the show with another strike just before half time for a 5-0 lead!!!

The second half seemed to come and go very quickly but the notable points were Moses being pole axed in the box in which Ando tucked away the resulting penalty and Beeb scoring on the rebound after the Big Bears shot was saved to give us a 7-0 victory.  Matty was brought on with 30 minutes to go and looked sharp throughout………..Will once again caused problems for the opposition and had luck gone his way he could of bagged a goal and Owen had a run and hit the post with a killer shot and seen another strike fly over the bar.  Well done to Juddy who managed to be first man to put a football on the moon.

Beautiful boys!
