Rampant Radford in 7th Heaven

With the sun beating down on Sunday footballs finest football pitch 14 Radford Semele footballers gave the performance of a lifetime to put a big fat smile on the faces of the management on what was the first anniversary in charge for us.

We have played some magnificent football in a season which sees us pushing for the league title and Cancer cup but everything about this game summed up what we set out to achieve a year ago to the day.  Professionalism, hard graft, finesse and a team spirit on par with some of the worlds greatest…….Barcelona, Spain, Brazil & Rangers.

The guys at Leam Rec are a great bunch,  always quick to congratulate after a match and I genuinely wish them all the best for next season.  They are a very hard team to break down and have proven this by reaching a cup final themselves.  A couple of standout players in team and if they can hold on to them I’m sure they will come up next season.

Now enough arse kissing lets talk about us!  Before the game the big Bear who was in line for his first start was dropped after a disciplinary incident on Friday night, Matty was a no show after deciding to book a last minute break at Warwickshire Constabulary’s finest B & B and Clarkie was pretending he still had a broken leg.

To the game and the quickest goal of the season with Lee laying off to Rowie who slotted home to give us the perfect start 1-0.  We dominated for the remainder of the half……..closing every ball down and trying to break down the opposition defence.  When Lee floated a perfect ball to Rowie who massaged the ball down from the sky and curled the ball into the top corner for a 2-0 lead.  After a quick short corner from Seb to lee who crossed to the unmarked Wilko who watched as his header agonisingly hit the post.

Two nil up at half time and as the boys lay in the morning sun they looked relaxed, refreshed and ready for another 45 minutes of hard graft and not one of them let us down.  A quick goal from Lee after the break killed the game off as we went 3-0 up.  Lee who was playing his best game so far was all over the place and his link up play with Rowie was causing all sorts of problems and it wasn’t long before we were 4-0 up.

Never in all my years did I think what happened next could ever happen on a football field………….Ol Big Ed nearly brought a tear to my eye as he displayed a great act of team spirit by standing aside and letting Rowie complete his Hat Trick from the penalty spot for 5-0.

Goal number 6 and a Hat Trick for Lee after he capitalised on a defensive mistake to slot home and not one for letting Ando get too big headed Wilko who is also competing for the golden boot squared a pass across the box for Lee to complete his Hat Trick for goal number 7.  Wilko – Ando your actions have left me speechless……..

When I normally do this report I have some moaning git telling me I forgot something so……Malc, Owen, Callum, Beeb, Rowie, Stevie B, Ando, Seb, Juddy, Wilko, Lee, Will, Andy, Jon – today you became men………saviour the day and bask in the glory.

One last thing before I go though…………Callum/Bear try kicking the ball next time!!!!
