RSF Attack,

With Match Day 1 under our belts, and multiple near fights with players & spectators (is it still safe for my mom to attend the games?). The SF fire is the best team in our league, and I think the Referees not showing up at the start of the game threw us off our rhythm from the beginning. I still don’t understand how people thought we were going to start playing the game without the “a” referee being on the field. That is like showing up for a math class in high school, and when the teacher doesn’t show up, people saying ‘let’s just sit in our seats and learn math anyway’…ant going to work! We are not civil enough to call our own fouls/off-sides. Who are we kidding? That said, the young man who blew the whistle for the first 20 minutes did a remarkable job keeping things in check. Not much to say about the sloths in green who stepped in about the 25th minute.

The first half was an interesting realty check for us (having a team play with us in the first half!) The field was in its normal state of shite, but we were just not putting together crisp passes…just a little off, and were getting wild bounces, which threw off our rhythm, and allowed the other team to play with us. I think the lesson learned in the 2nd half was that if things were not clicking, try to do less and keep it simple, and don’t try to do more and overcompensate for the lack of mojo. The defense again played fantastic, and keep the team’s spirits where they needed to be going into the 2nd half! Like most teams over 30 years old, putting together a 90 minute game is close to impossible. We scored 4 goals in the last 20 minutes…

1) Ryan #2 (Gerry Assist) – Corner Kick (and covered by 3 players and myself!)

2) Brian – can’t read the handwriting (Gerry Assist) – I think this was the big bomber from deep outside to the corner!

3) Martin – another bomber from outside

4) Ryan #2 (Andre Assist)

Player of the week: Brian Dawson

Bruiser of the week: Tom (Gerry look out…you’re crown is at stake!)

- Next Game: March 13 - Doyle Field - 1:00 pm against Vaquero's 30 (Please let Larry know if you are not going to be there!!)

DAY LIGHT SAVINGS TIME: If you don’t change your clock, you’ll be an hour late!!!

- Bring the $$$ for Larry. If he doesn’t collect from you quick enough, he promised to buy the discontinued Gatorade flavors (Banana, Cinnamon, Peach, Blueberry)

On a final note: I’m not sure what is going on with Larry, Martin, and the SD Fire player spectator, but Larry was over in the guy’s dish waving his finger in his face, and warned him that if he got up out of his chair, he would kick is a$$. As we all saw, he did NOT even think about getting out of his chair! Nice job Larry! We all know you could have killed him if you wanted to. Maybe that is what caused all the turmoil at the end of the game!
