Away league match played on 31 January 2009.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

It was a cold dry day for our visit to Framlingham with the pitch being heavy and sticky in places after the recent wet and cold weather the boys were all ready for today’s game and were told before KO by the Ref what he expected from them and what they could expect from him, the ref kept up this great approach throughout the game.

Fram got the KO and were straight on the attack and they won free kick inside the 1st minute which was easily dealt with by the defence. The 1st 5 minutes were played mostly in midfield with the Sax boys working hard to get on top of the game and the ever improving Fish showing a lot of quality to break up play and get Sax on the attack, Sax had the ball in the back of the net on 5 mins but it was ruled our for offside, that didn’t seem to let the boys head drop as 30 seconds later the ball came to Ed who unleashed a fierce shot that gave the keeper no chance and must be a contender for goal of the season 0 - 1. On 9 minutes George was put in on goal by John and he did well to finish whilst being under pressure by 2 defenders 0 - 2. On 10 minutes Fram had a good attack and jack who is still struggling with a hand injury made a good save down to his left. The ball went out for a corner and Jack collected the cross and sent it straight down to the hard working Ed who scored his 2nd of the game 0 - 3. Sax were getting into their stride and playing some good stuff and looking a good team. Fram had another corner and Jack showed what a good keeper he is to pluck the ball out of the air. The 1st half finished with Sax looking comfortable and dangerous going forward but no more goals.

HALF TIME Framlingham 0 Saxmundham 3

Jack came off and the other nutter in the team Kyle took the gloves and entertained us throughout the half. The half was only in the 2nd minute when the ball was given to Ed by John and Ed put another unstoppable shot past the keeper to complete another Hat-trick. Sax were attacking at will and although Fram were working hard they couldn’t live with the pace at which we were attacking them. John got his 1st after a scramble in the area and the next goal scored by Jake came after some excellent football down the right when John and Rossi combined. Rossi ended up in the box and put the ball to Jake who scored to make it 0 - 7. John got back in the goal action when he hit a shot that the keeper got to, but the power on the shot took it in anyway. That was league goal 99 of the season. Jack and George were in the dugout eagerly waiting for number 100. It was looking like it would never come with the Fram defence and keeper doing really well. On 65 minutes Rossi got the ball and ran at the defence and his shot hit the back of the net to make it 0 - 8 and score the 100th league goal of the season.

The boys all worked hard today and it was good to get some positive comments after the game again and they should be proud of themselves. Even though Rossi got the 100th goal he wouldn’t have got that without the other 99 so well done to all the team.

We have a break from the league next week with a chance to get to the semi-final of the cup so a good attitude and commitment to the team will be essential. Well done today see you all on Thursday.
