Away cup match played on 12 February 2011.
Kicked off at 2:00 AM

This week we sent Mick!. Apparently his name was given as one of the Pictures for the telegraph too - Mick Lad! Yeah!

The manager was scrambling for a team this week, with a few doing their bits and bobs on the Saturday. It fell to the Scuns youth system to fill the viod and we managed to pull 11 players out, including 1 sub/linesman - who managed to get up and down that line very well. Wince must have shown something extra in training this week as again the team was shuffled and a few players played out of position.

It was quite a scrapy start to the first half and players new and old trying to find there feet. Bj showed a good start and had the first chance of the game, only to find him faster than he looks and offside. Most of the Crosby play was in front of the Scuns defence, which they delt with very well, heading and getting rid of that ball. A great team effort, saw some very sexy football down the right hand side. Steve Kempshall put a nice ball down the right to Joe, a had a very good run and curled the ball round the crosby defence. The cool headed Bj takes it round the keeper, and at a very tight angle, slides it home - from defence that was never going in. Our midfield put good pressure on goal kicks winning everything in the air, however it was't long until Crosby were managing to find more space - wince's legs must have gone! Another good play saw Bj use his strength and muscle off a guy, only to shoot wide with Martin ghosting free in the middle! A few minutes later the younger Kempshall, plays a lovely ball through to Martin - he's in on goal - oh wait - no it's half time - Good timing ref!

The second half started slowly, so you could tell there were a few tired legs from the first half. We gave away quite a few more free kicks and corners compared to the first half, but at least we were still challenging. Kenyon had to be at his best, and he showed it coming to collect & punch to clear our lines. Crosby got a free kick, bounced off one of us, found a team mate and scored - scrappy but the ever present linesman gave it as offside. A second free kick came in, wince decided he actually had a right foot and cleared it 2 yards for them to have another. We had to score quick, as it wouldn't be long until they did. Dave kempshall came up with goods placing a nice ball through for Bj to run onto. Bj with only the keeper in front, travelled as fast as his little legs could carry him - Mat Morland shouting "just kick it in" and the defender catching up with him making a last ditch tackle - he may have lost a little pace since his early years. As they pushed on Kenny found himself making the quotes of the week saying "I love a good tackle" and "You've got to look after yourself - how do you think I look this pretty". A big hoof from Steve Kempshall found Bj once more, too far away for a decent shot - but not for Mr Nichol. A sublime chip found the keeper wanting and nicely dropped at the back post. 2 lovely goals from the Beejmiester - 2 - 0, and good attaitude all round from the scuns massive. It's making a big difference!
