Home league match played on 08 October 2022.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Luke had a rather quiet game which can be the way for a keeper sometimes had one save to make in the first half which he tipped over without even having to jump. Used his hands much more this week and this set us on the attack with the two or three times the ball actually pressed his space.

Leo had a solid game and was switched on again he didn't really have a great deal to do as most of the play was midfield. Went on a driving run and had some great clearances over the top to relieve any pressure.

Alex had another solid game with some big tackles and plenty of running whilst carrying a bit of an injury to make the press in midfield. Chased any dead ball down and helped nullify wrekins way of play in the middle with some big tackles showed great tenacity in the middle. Man of the match

Logan his running was very important today as it will be next Sunday and staying in the role again to stop the play. As we were chasing the game we wanted to put Logan up top to press the backline whilst they were wobbling and it worked well with him grabbing a last minute goal for his hard work.

Arthur doesn't like the cold! When Arthur got fired up he came on and instantly caused a few problems with his direct running style. In training before we moved to Langley Arthur had been asking if he can play in defence and he excelled in training, so we gave him a go in the game he did very well in holding his position and has such electric pace that anyone would struggle with which showed when he made a great tackle to stop a cross coming in, in the last few moments of the game.

Reeve had some great through balls and was holding his role as a deep lying midfield very well his through balls are superb and he's always looking to go forward had some great link up play with his midfield team mates. Great throwin technique aswell we will call that one the Thomas.

Levi had a solid game and put in a great shift with some good tackling and tracking back. We tried Levi up so we could apply a physical presence further forward and put the backline under pressure had a great chance and was unlucky not to get some assists from the corners he was lofting in. Got himself out of some tricky waters with a perfectly executed bicycle kick that Trevor Sinclair would of been proud of.

Jacob is finding a real ally in Tom up top with some good movement and passing. Running into space is certainly improving and so is his communication. Had a great strike from outside the box which sailed past the keeper to add to his tally.

Tom was moving very well across the lines and is showing us another string to his bow. Had the assist for the first from the right hand side and he's a constant thorn in the side due to his movement and physical side of the game that he has.

Harley again nothing got past him even against a midfield duo that have caused damage to us before. Had a very calm and collected game again looking to stop plays appears to be Harley's game as he's two plays ahead in his head with where the ball is going to be and that's something you just can't teach and a great trait to have rather than running all over the shop he reserves his runs and 9/10 he's absolutely correct with his choices.

Taaj up against his school mates so he was well up for this game and showed that he doesn't just keep up he can lead the way had some great tackles and a sublime through ball in the first half that we just couldn't take advantage of. His tracking back has become a very good part of his game in recent weeks and hasn't gone unnoticed he is more aware of his position and is adding new strengths to his game each week which we are seeing on the pitch.

Tough game to swallow as we rattled the woodwork twice and should of been 2 up really in the first half with great chances from corners and fast turnovers on the attack.

We did very well to come back from 2 down and that shows the grit and determination that these boys have to keep going until the final whistle.

Looking back maybe we showed them too much respect and held off a little too much as we had them ready for the win towards the end of the game.

Well done boys.

On another note Toni (Mentor to the ref Alex) mentioned to us that it was the best game she had seen from parents and coaches of both teams and that it was a joy to watch and is going to be reporting that back to the club. Well done everyone involved it's nice to finally get some decent feedback for what we do each weekend anyway.
