Match Report fairfax 1 SBV 6   Benfleet turned up fully equipt with mountain boots and ice picks for when the altitude got too high. This was not a game for those scared of hieghts such was the slope on this pitch. Unlike the last match SBV had a full eleven plus two subs which saw Bret and Matt P for welcome return,   Swinger Cliff won the toss and we started playing downhill. Sherpers were dispatched once we had established base camp, The game commenced with some even exchanges. Benfllet worked the ball forward well, The tactic working which was to play a passing game. Initial flurries saw some soulth Benfllet moves falter as the pass was sometimes too slow. However as the game progressed SBV improved apon this and took control, Cliff had a good match linking up with Tony Perry and it was through one of these link up's the first SBV goal was scored. At this stage Fairfax showed spme spirit and also made Keith save well from a shot which he dived to his left to put round the post. But all in all SBV did have most of the possession and were only concerned by Fairfax counters which usually came when the ball was lost needlessly. SBV needed to concentrate on thier passing as through this method it was clear rewards woud come.   Speaking of rewards Cliff entered the scoring by a cross from 35 Yards and finding the far top corner. ususally a fate SBV suffer themselves but it was nice to see us getting the rub of the green for this one. Cliff duly appologised but later announced he meant he 65 yard screamer into the top corner.    More attacks ensured and Faifax countered in similar Fashion but mostly contained well by a well organised defense minus Ole Dennison. Which meant we rarely got caught out.   Half time whistle 2-0 Morgan had his ten penny worth stating the need to play tight as now playing uphill there may be more difficulties. Sub made which saw Diesel replaced by Matt P who insisted he wanted a few positive touches as he had not played for some time   Fairfax first attack saw the ball played over the top with Matt clear favourite. Thinking about these wise words at half time saw Matt bounce the ball off his knees straight to the Faiffax striker who placed the ball to keiths right. Kieth got down well only to see the ball bobble over this outstretched hand and the ball nestled into the net now the score 1-2. This bouyed faifax who possibly had thier best period with a few cutting attacks one of which saw Matt redeem himself with some nicely timed tackles.   At this time SBV were still putting some nice attacks together, particularly with Cliff and Tony on the right.MeanwhileThier goalkeeper made a few good saves one from a Gary freekick and another from a Ben Carver effort Both put round the post.   Morgan forgettting his pre match words about postive comments had one off his Hissy fits which only Morgan can have and as usual Gary on the recieving end. ( Its a wonder Morgs doesnt have a corony) that aside SBV broke down all the Fairfax threw at them and were taking more control the longer the game went on, One such move saw Cliff pass to TP who played the ball to Ben C who sidefooted a nice shot from the edge into the top corner, Ben Celebrated and Celebrated as Ben likes everyone to know he's scored ,We heard at lenght later the build up and events leading to and after this historic moment. On the positive side this should stop Ben commiting suicide this week.   This goal pshyically deflated Fairfax and the game then moved onto another phase where SBV attacked and attacked. One Such Attack saw te move of the game with Ben, Cliff intehanging pasing and a cross which saw TP in the middle to make it his Brace   The fifth Followoed soon afterwards as matt now full of hiself raded forward and after a pass from ben Hit a rasping shot from 25 yards which the keeper got a tronghand to but did not prevent it going in.   The sixth followd with a TP making room for a shot and scoring his third. This being the second hatrick this season by a SBV player seen by th other recipiant who was watch from the sidelines Matt.   Brent entered the game to replace Harry for a brief cameo , whistle went 6-1 win   Summary. In parts SBV moved the ball well but needs to play the simple ball more and perhaps quickly, Morgan stressed we were not commincating and largely this came from a few players namely Richard and Morgs and TP we all need to talk more/ However no matter what was siad the referee would not have heard.
