An absolute shocker from the Saints today with a poor performance and attitude from certain individuals. In a game we needed to win to keep pressure on the Berlin we failed miserably. We got off to the worse possible start allowing Glenbryn striker time and space to volley home from the edge of the box, 1-0 Glenbryn after 5 mins, we pushed forward looking for the equaliser with Boot volleying just wide 18 yards out, a minute leader we did equalise when Aaron had his initial shot saved and the ball fell to Boot to tap home 1-1, Glenbryn fired the ball into the box with Ryan at full stretch missing it completely, he was running around like a baked potato and had to be subbed shortly after, Glenbryn had another effort which clipped the post on 15 mins as we were at sixes and sevens, Aaron then had an effort on the half hour mark shooting over the bar from inside the Glenbryn box, then on 35 mins we tried to play offside only to be caught out allowing Glenbryn player to run through on goal to score past the helpless Junior 2-1 Glenbryn. Boot had an effort to level it just before half time but once again Glenbryn keeper saved well, half time 2-1. We made a change at half time taking of the punch drunk Dede Min replacing him with Martin, we began the second half a bit brighter starting to pass the ball about and it wasn’t long before Aaron was left with a chance only to drag his effort wide, we went down to ten men when after a rash tackle from a Glenbryn player Fergie reacted furously throwing a right hook clean on the jaw, the ref had no option to send both players off, after the hour mark the ball fell to Winky 35 yards out he hit a thunderbolt effort which crashed of the crossbar and there was Aaron to tap home 2-2, we were in the ascendency at this stage and 5 mins later we took the lead with a fabulous team move which started in our own half with Gazza, Lawrence, Winky, Aaron all combining then finished off with Boot to put us 3-2 in front, Glenbryn had chances of their own when there striker was one on one with stand in keeper Junior who made a great save, then it was Aarons turn with a one on one hitting his shot straight at their keeper, then as last week a minutes madness in defence when on 77 mins Daryl was caught out allowing there forward to break clear and cross for their equaliser 3-3, 78 mins slack marking from a corner which they scored from to turn the tie 4-3 in their favour, we pushed forward in search of another equaliser first Gazza with only the keeper to beat 6 yards out saw his effort blocked by there keeper, then Aaron with a spectacular overhead kick effort that went narrowly wide and  Aaron again with a 40 yard free kick crashed of the crossbar and Winky right at the end whipped in a corner goal bound only to be tipped over by their keeper.

A bitterly disappointing result and disastrous setback in our push for the title, time for players to stand up and be counted, the season and league is a long way from being over with some big games coming up starting with a cup quarter final next Saturday against Rathcoole so let’s see you Saints!!! time to get our season back on  track!
