As hoodoos go this one was well and truly smashed with a power packed performance from the Saints. We made our intentions known right from the start taking the game to Westkirk and it didn’t take us long to take the lead with Winky smashing in a free kick on the edge of their box with only 5 mins on the clock, 10 mins later Boot had chance to double our lead when he was put through with only the keeper to beat but shot wide, Westkirk had a chance up the other end but big Simon stood firm and produced a fine save, Aaron had a go 18 yards out but pulled his shot wide before Stuarty made a goal line clearance from a Westkirk corner, Simon was once again called into action with another good save before we doubled our lead on the half hour mark, Gazza swung the ball in from the right which eluded Boot, Tommy made a half-hearted attempt at a diving header before the ball fell to Aaron inside the Westkirk box and he made no mistake to fire us into a 2-0 lead, a few minutes later Winky curled in a corner which was goal ward bound only for their keeper to touch it onto the bar, we were relentless at this stage piling forward at every opportunity, 35 mins we were 3-0 up when Boot turned there defender and broke free in there box to score his first of the game, just before half time Aaron powered down the left flank into the box and as Westkirk keeper came rushing out Aaron spectacular dived to earn a penalty which Boot scored with aplomb, half time 4-0. It took us a while to get going in the second half as we were happy to sit on our lead as Westkirk were of no threat to us, Aaron got his second of the game on the hour mark receiving the ball from Adrian and scoring from inside the Westkirk box 5-0, he had a chance to get his hat-trick 5 mins later pulling his header wide from a Winky cross, Westkirk did have one chance in the second half but once again the big man stood firm, however Simon who tried so hard all afternoon to keep a clean sheet conceded when Adrian let the ball slip past him leaving Simon helpless to make it 5-1, just a minute later tho we scored again this time through the deserving Lawrence after Boots initial shot was saved, Aaron desperate for his hat-trick was one on one with the keeper but he failed to take his chance, Winky then fired in a thunder shot from 20 yards which Westkirk keeper brilliantly tipped round the post and with 5 mins to go Aaron got his hat-trick picking up a pass from Gazza and scoring from close range, Aaron then came off for a well deserved break as I made an appearance to settle the ship, I may not of got a touch but just my physical appearance on the pitch was enough to keep everyone focussed on the job in hand :) An excellent team performance with everyone playing there part to keep the Saints band wagon rolling!

The football teams xmas party was a great night with some good craic from everyone and an enjoyable xmas dinner, I had great time but I lost my fone as I tumbled my way home and fell asleep in my cloakroom, I woke up thinking fuk im in someone’s box room before realising where I was :)
