Away friendly match played on 10 July 2011.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

We came up against a decent team today, they moved the ball round well and passed it like an established team that've played a fair few games together, it was a decent game and exactly what we needed for the coming season as it showed exactly where and what we need work on before the season kicks off.

We started quite well and made a few chances after a break down the left Morley beat the last defender and slotted home at the keepers near post to give us the advantage.

Soon after though a hopeful ball was played upfront that found its way over our defence for the opposing striker to tap home from close range this really set up how the match was going to go.

Again after some decent hold up play from C.Dixon, Morley was played through for him to get his second and the advantage was restored, this again did not last long as after another mistake and bad luck they scored an equalizer from close range.

Soon after a corner was met by H.Ahmed from J.Nicholls ball in, at 3-2 we were restoring our advantage and looking like we were ontop in the game.

It didnt take long though for the bad luck to keep coming and after a slip at the wrong time from one of our defenders the ball was crossed in low for the striker to tap in from close range.

The next goal was to come for the opposition though and was the goal that put them ahead for the first time in the match and put us behind for the half time interval.

The second half saw us with limited options only having one sub and this showed, the other team was passing the ball better and holding posession, this showed when we started lagging a bit and didnt have the legs or bodies to freshen things up and change the system. This really goes to show the importance of the players that are missing recently and how much this was a key to us doing so well last season having a squad with decent players to come on mid game makes the world of difference and does get results.

The game pretty much panned out with us getting more stretched and them seeing more of the ball and creating more chances, after a break from manor old boys, they quickly dispatched the ball down the pitch to slot home there 5th.

The 6th goal also came for them after too much time was allowed for the striker to look up pick his spot and find the top corner, we were really starting to struggle with chasing the ball around the pitch and get to grips with getting ourselves and heads back in the game.

The last eventful thing to happen was a set piece that was headed around the box till Michael Healey held it up and laid off J.Nicholls to drive the ball in the bottom corner and end the game 6-4.

We really beat ourselves again today and had some bad luck, but you make your own luck and we didnt play how we can or should, we were too quick to rush forward and not track back, we didnt pressure the ball enough and at times we were too deep and not assertive enough.

Fitness looked poor today and we were knackered by the 60th minute, which didnt help our cause, we were snappy at each other and too many times we were straying from our positions and giving the ball away.

Report: Deffinately need to improve in the next game our communication, fitness, positional play and attitude to the system and way we play.
