Home league match played on 07 October 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

2 minutes extra time played.

Game started off with us scoring early through A morley finishing a chance created by J Nicholls.

The game was cagey though and The Bluebell soon had a leveller after a cross was hopefully put in from the right side and an unmarked header was put past our keeper at the far post.

We soon had the lead again when a cross was put in by J Nicholls and headed in from close range by D Murell, after a corner had been taken and passed back out to him to deliver again.

The lead didn’t last long and after some sloppy passing The Bluebell made a break and soon back level with a low cross that was poked in from 5 yards after the defence stopped thinking the keeper was going to collect this took the score to 2-2.

Just before half time an attack down the right lead to a penalty being awarded to The Bluebell, after L Elsdon tried to get back across The Bluebell forward and clipped his heels.

L Brown soon made up for the earlier error though and the penalty was stopped by a great diving save low to the keeper’s right side.

The second half started brightly for us and within the first 5 minutes some great passing and team build-up lead to a great move with J Nicholls striking from the edge of the box from a pass weighted perfectly by A Morley and with a deflection from a Bluebell defender beat the keeper and made the score 3-2.

The Second half was all The Red Lions with the Bluebell hardly having any touches and us keeping the ball for our next goal which again was built up with some great team passing and then again a brilliant link up with A Morley again placing a ball on the edge of the box for J Nicholls to lash home to take the score 4-2.

A similar chance presented itself moments later but unfortunately went over the top of the bar.

The 2nd half was all ours and The Bluebell were struggling to deal with the great passing and movement throughout our team.

The 5th goal came from our debutant sub A Sobey picking the ball up at left back taking it past 2 players and passing to A Morley who passed over the top for Sub K McKinley to run onto and chip over the keeper to wrap the game up and make the score 5-2.

The Bluebell had no clear cut chances or shots second half and it took a great strike from deep outside our box to beat our keeper. The First half of the game was even and didn’t look like swinging in any particular teams favour. The Penalty save was a pivotal turning point for us and lead to us firing on all cylinders and keeping the ball and using it at every opportunity to punish a demoralised and tired Bluebell side 2nd half.

Probably one of our best performances as a team yet in the 2nd half of this game and we’ve shown what we can do and how we can play.

If we play like this again against which ever team is in front of us im sure we can bank on gaining more points through the season.
