Away league match played on 06 October 2011.
Kicked off at 8:45 PM

Well, after a roller coaster week, no more so than for Emma, we find ourselves at Thursday already! With Pistol Pete (un-beaten in all games this season!!!) on holiday (in Tunisia but I reckon he was at home hiding from the Gas Man haha) and Emma moved to Eastbourne (long story) it looked as though we would have to offer a debut to our newly signed superstar Helen (aka Mrs B). But Mark (aka Lester Faggot) and Emma both pitched up and Helen was relieved of her duties (until 27th October when she is filling in for me).

Going into this game brimming with confidence, and with Joe having spotted possibly the best number plate ever ORG 45M haha, we arrived at Royal George in high hopes (and high spirits). Longy was on the beer and Joe was on Simpsons (OJ for those that didn't get it) and the opposition (led by Adi) were in good form too.

Mark asked Ian how he had been (very polite - faggot) and he said 'yeah not too bad. Just been to the battle. Half of their players look like they've been dug up' (can't wait to play them ha ha).

All 3 doubles pairings for us (unbeaten this season) were looking strong and we kicked off with Mark (before he got to bolloxed) and Emma. Em pitched in with a 100 in each leg and Lester hit a nice 134 in leg 1 but other than that it was a quick affair (a bit like Lisa and the geezer from The Kendal Arms). Our first taste of doubles defeat!

Notice that the scorer prferred the manual way of chalking than using the electronic (and fully working) scoreboard. Maybe so they could cheat haha

Mark took the pen (1 5) from Longy as he was called up to play. Longy and Jo were next up and had hopes of levelling up. No joy but Longy with 63.92 average was impressive with his scoring but as Ian said at the start, tonight would be all about the doubles being taken out. In this game he was exactly right as we matched them all the way down.

They call a singles and Ian looks to put us on the board but no luck. A 46.43 average was not enough against Ryan Melloy who played fairly well in doubles and singles tonight! Oh well, 3-0 and a whitewash looking inevitable!

Gazza called into action and, as always this season, he has come up with the goods. 53.67 was the average that was more than enough to get our first win on the board! Well played mate, that haircut has definitely worked! You are the Peter Wright (pic to follow) of Southwick Darts mate!

Em up to the flat oche (that has definitely helped her tonight) as she makes it 3-2 with another to be recorded on the achievement list (more than Laura ha ha). Good work! During this game when the opponent was on Double Top Ian came out with his weekly routine of comical abuse - 'Get in the 5 you prick' (and he obliged) followed by 'Go on... Fuck it up again you PRICK' (loud enough to hear haha).

Ian and Gaz levelled us up (as expected to be fair) but made hard work of it in the first leg.

Longy gets his win for the night (that he looked nowhere near getting on Tuesday) and a decent average here 55.97 and 4 100 scores gtet him a 2-0!

Well, in front for the first time in the night and 2 games to go. Hopefully Mark wasn't too p155ed. Mind you, after the look on his face when he came out of the toilets I thought he had seen a ghost... What he did see was... well, I will show ya (pic to follow).

Mark, get on the oche pal... You are on for the match. Even a 51.83 average in leg 2 wasn't enough (unlike his average in Trap 1!!) to secure the game. the first game of the night that didn't end 2-0 but we were on the wrong side.

So, 4-4 and Joe to play. Tim was probably their strongest player on paper and Joe, who had hit a good bit of form this season, would be facing his toughest task to date. This said, a lovely D11 take out put im in front (unusual as he prefers to go behind ha ha). Levelled up after a lower scoring leg (still down to a double though) and a tight decider left both players on doubles (even tough Joe was on 217 when Tim was on 32). Good scoring but 13 sets of darts for Joe from 16 downwards wasn't enough to win the game as Tim took out D1 to take the game and the match.

The game ended a 5-4 loss (our first of the season) but the legs ended 10-10. A great cimeback performance that saw us nudge in front after starting slow and being 3-0 down before Mark had even managed to have 12 bottles of Bulmers haha.

Opposition were a good laugh, food was pony but better than last year and at least the barmaid never called Emma 'Big Bird' as she did last year. Emma's response was something like 'Fuck off you cheeky cunt'. Well maybe it should have been haha

Brilliant singles from Emma (hence Girl of the game) and good averages from Longy. Thanks for Ian turning up haha

Roll on next week, when Pistol is back from Bognor and Ian doesn't leaveone of his darts at home (looking at his scores he only brough 2 with him haha).

Over and Out

Danny Long (middle name Very)
