Evening Chaps,
Please find attached my report from Sundays game.
Lads really poor day on Sunday, we are in a really poor run of form, players struggling with individual form & a host of injuries, I feel we look incredibly fatigued late in the season (player data suggests this also)
it looks like the amount of games across a season for a large portion of us have caught up with us.
We spoke before the game about injecting tempo from the first whistle, if the ball goes dead to spot & play, move it quickly and try and isolate our key players in key areas, but we just seem so far off it in every aspect at the moment.
The first goal sums us up as a group at the moment, a long hopeful shot, no one reacting & the boy takes a touch 4 yards out and puts it in a empty net, after that it was much of the same, laboured to get tight in key areas of the pitch, that aggression & tenacity we had in every area of the pitch up to and including the cup final seems to have deserted us & in football working hard has to be an absolute minimum for us all.
The goals we conceded were so soft in the first half & after a stern chat at half time I felt there was a reaction for 15 mins or so before we again allowed players to win duels against us all over the pitch, a lack of desire & quality on the ball was lacking.
It was a really really poor day from start to finish, as a group we have created some wonderful memories this season & Iβm sure knowing some of the characters in the group we will want to finish strongly in our final two league games of the season.
Starting at Erith Town on Thursday, dips in form at your age are completely normal aged 12/13 but a desire/willingness to work hard and compete should be a given every single time you step on the pitch & I will be looking for a reaction on Thursday from us ALL.
Letβs finish strong & get some momentum for the final two games of the season.
Cheers H
