Evening chaps,

Please find attached my report from Sundays game.

We spoke before the game about playing front foot lads & I felt we done this, Lemar, Bailey & Kai I felt set the press very well with Fisher resorting to launching long balls, kicking it off or turning over possession very cheaply, all be it I felt they looked dangerous in forward areas, both wingers were neat and tidy but I felt both Doniel & Samuel dealt with them really well.

Despite the ‘fight’ I felt we showed boys, I still think we really lacked quality in good areas of the pitch, too many times we turnt the ball over in midfield areas or delayed passing it wide, the pitch is not great this time of year but I think at times we still didn’t move it sharply enough, the outlet was in wide areas and I think we turnt the pass down to the wide men way too many times in the first half which we discussed on Friday about trying to isolate the wingers 1v1.

Fisher went 1-0 up against the run of play & I felt the reaction was good, we had lots of ‘moments’ in the second half without it turning to fruition, balls flashing across the box, good position’s from set plays but it just isn’t dropping or we are not quite getting timing of runs right and anticipating where the ball may drop.

Players coming off the bench, on the whole this season, the impact has been great but on Sunday I felt it affected the quality/tempo of the game, if you are not starting the game you need to be ready to impact it positively!

Second goal again is us not getting TIGHT to players in the final third, we have to sniff the danger early and ENGAGE.

We got back into the game with 15 to play with some great work from you Lemar latching on to a long ball & finishing really well but again lads we gave a cheap goal away.. cannot keep talking about fullbacks engaging as high up the pitch as possible, you have to close down with intensity and desire, not ‘token pressing’ & allow people to cut inside/outside and get shots off.

If you take a look at your player data, some are starting to fall short in terms of distance covered, not all but some & the intensity we are doing it at, please take a good look through on your player account, some of you will be approaching 60/70 games for the season so how you manage yourselves this time of year is really important!

Let’s dust ourselves down lads, we have a massive game against Dulwich on Sunday who we can catch with the game in hands we have.

I’ve also attached the VEO below for you to take a look at.
